sapper756 Posted February 3, 2013 Report Posted February 3, 2013 For those who are planning on sending birds over the Chanel in 2013, whether it be with a National Club or a Federation, what about sharing your preparation system; When do you pair your Chanel birds up, and why? How many preparation races do you intend to send them to, and how far are these races? Do you toss your candidates, if so, how far and how often? What nest condition do you like your cocks/hens to be on when racing from the Chanel? Do you add anything extra to their drinkers or feed prior to sending over the Chanel? How far is it for your birds, when flying over the Chanel? Thank you in advance for your inputhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0137-clapping.gif

ALF Posted February 3, 2013 Report Posted February 3, 2013 The pigeon i scored with from Alencon last year was paired up the 1st saturday in march reared her 1st round of yb's before seeing a basket she had 3 or 4 tosses and was put into Uttoxeter which i think is 220mls approx to me she came at 9.50 that night in what turned out a bad race for me only 6 doos on the day from 16 sent after that she wasnae raced again before Alencon but had 7 or 8 tosses from Macmerry area (approx 45 mls) thanks to Wullie Johnstone of Carluke.... She went to Alencon with her eggs hatched out on the morning of basketting for the race and i timed her at 7.24pm on the shift but it's horses for courses after the time she had on the wing from her only race i felt she didnae need anymore racing As for feeding vl all rounder and as much maize as they wanted and plenty hemp tae and a good handful of peanuts everyday on the lead up to the race and food always in front of them...it worked last year but will it work this year i dont know??? Best of luck to everyone sending over the channel this year i hope everyone gets as much of a buzz as i did timing from Alencon last year "MAGIC"
