jose Posted January 10, 2013 Report Posted January 10, 2013 i am starting racing for the 1st time this year with young ones, how many do yous guys think i should start with???thanks 4 any replys
andyyy Posted January 10, 2013 Report Posted January 10, 2013 Id say 20 - 30, If next year you want more have more, but you might decided this number is perfect. its best to have a few more to get you to end of season and to make sure you have some old birds next year. atb, Andy
jose Posted January 10, 2013 Author Report Posted January 10, 2013 what size is your loft,24ft ,8,8 cheers
kirky Posted January 10, 2013 Report Posted January 10, 2013 well u have plenty of room for them i would go for around 40 as its your first season u want some left end of season for next year.
Poppy Loft Posted January 10, 2013 Report Posted January 10, 2013 I started last season with thirty odd. My best advise to you would be train them in two seperate teams incase of a bad toss. Also have a few late breds as it gives you something to do in the long winter months!
jose Posted January 10, 2013 Author Report Posted January 10, 2013 cheers for replys, thats a good idea of havin 2 teams, thanks
Roland Posted January 10, 2013 Report Posted January 10, 2013 Good post Poppy Loft. He has plenty of room for... too much room I fear. But when breeding next year etc.
neneland Posted January 10, 2013 Report Posted January 10, 2013 too many fanciers breed too many youngsters every year, it is preferable to breed a few good ones.i order just the 20 rings from the NFC and i dont fill them all.the more you breed, the more you feed the hawks! dont get lulled in to trying to make up the numbers
terry mccarthy Posted January 11, 2013 Report Posted January 11, 2013 if your first season as many as u can that your loft allows i would say to size of your loft 60 no more
PATTY BHOY Posted January 11, 2013 Report Posted January 11, 2013 my 1st season last year and i had 40ybs.
