Id say 20 - 30, If next year you want more have more, but you might decided this number is perfect. its best to have a few more to get you to end of season and to make sure you have some old birds next year. atb, Andy

I started last season with thirty odd. My best advise to you would be train them in two seperate teams incase of a bad toss. Also have a few late breds as it gives you something to do in the long winter months!

too many fanciers breed too many youngsters every year, it is preferable to breed a few good ones.

i order just the 20 rings from the NFC and i dont fill them all.

the more you breed, the more you feed the hawks! dont get lulled in to trying to make up the numbers
