jake12 Posted December 7, 2012 Report Posted December 7, 2012 Training flight went well today... returns almost 96% so far so good... Hi Wuldon, bad news for the Doolanders, the two birds that are shown in the training are all we have left from six sent. The team are amazed at this as I would say that the fanciers involved are as good as you`ll get. John Bosworth, Jim Smith, J.&j.Hood and George Hunter. As for myself, I sent two and one remains. I don`t consider to be in the same class as my above partners, but thought I had some decent doo`s. My survivor "Rapier" is from stock pair that bred 2 y/b`s only last year and both won in Club & Fed and flew to 290 miles. The same birds won the first 9 races in the club this year (3 in first 4 each race.In 2011 from 33 y/b`s raced to Open & Combine, 27 left. In 2010 from 32 raced the same with 26 left. So we now have only 2 to cheer on for Scotland plus you and J Ross. :cry-blow: :cry-blow:PS Best of luck to the rest of the doo`s and their owners in the coming Training/Races. Allan ^_^

Allan ^_^ Hi Allan... ye noticed 'Doolanders' only had 2 left, what a stroke of bad luck there! i sent 11 myself with one 'awol' before training started... its a tough OLR and tbh i reckon you need more luck than good judgement in saying that i have attempted to 'box clever' this year by sending 5 young birds that are bred from two hens that placed 26th and 29th in the 2012 final, the wee blue hen i activated 'FLECHA' and a purchase which was another blue hen 'ASHLEY'... whether sending the climatised blood back with a fresh cross works or not remains to be seen, but its a bit like racing at home.. i will try anything to try n win a prize! lol... good luck with the remainder of the training, lets hope we all have something for the final this year!
