Guest redrog Posted December 1, 2012 Report Posted December 1, 2012 just wonderin lads how much is result down to bird and how much down to fancier. would top loft win with averge bird and would average loft win with top bird?
Guest geordiejen Posted December 1, 2012 Report Posted December 1, 2012 for me it must be the fancier 100%.a bird aint gonna do well if the fancier doesnt put the effort in.
geordie1234 Posted December 1, 2012 Report Posted December 1, 2012 For me fancier Good doos can get themselves in order every 2 3 4 or 5 years and get a brilliant result a gd doo man gets his same good doos doing it every season imo
VMS Posted December 1, 2012 Report Posted December 1, 2012 50/50 simple as that not one can perform with out the other.
gulkie Posted December 1, 2012 Report Posted December 1, 2012 If they took 2 hours they probs were flying around your loft ranging, they normally range that far out anyway!Short and middle distance 60% fancier distance 80% pigeon .
Guest spin cycle Posted December 1, 2012 Report Posted December 1, 2012 Short and middle distance 60% fancier distance 80% pigeon . spot on IMO
Guest Owen Posted December 1, 2012 Report Posted December 1, 2012 I think it is 100% Fancier. He has to provide the right sort of loft to promote health, train the birds to be effective, get the feed right, and choose which races he wants to target. And last but definately not least select the birds likely to win in the competition available.
Walter swanston Posted December 1, 2012 Report Posted December 1, 2012 Fancier every time.No question
Guest bigda Posted December 1, 2012 Report Posted December 1, 2012 it has also been noted that the pigeon was there to win the race but the fancier wasn't
DJWa Posted December 1, 2012 Report Posted December 1, 2012 it has also been noted that the pigeon was there to win the race but the fancier wasn't bit like a race horse dannyyou can have the best trainer in the world but if the horse doesnt have it, it wont win imagine steptoes horse and shergar in a race give shergar to a novice trainer and steptoes horse to a top trainershergar would still win no contest
Guest redrog Posted December 1, 2012 Report Posted December 1, 2012 it is interesting lads how some split it others go bird others fancier. i hopin i just good enough to do the birds justice an i dont make too many clangers.
Guest lambrechts31 Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 This is a great question, and the replies are interesting, but in my oppinion its 50/50 if you,v got a good pigeon you need a good fancier to bring out the best in it jmo for what its worth........ :emoticon-0138-thinking:
Tony C Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 Hundreds of thousands of £'s are spent on pigeons every year but you still see the same names at the top! take from this what you will.
demolition man Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 Good pigeons will come to the front who ever racing them, getting them the consistency is due to the fancier , a good loft and regularity around the birds play a big part also. Most successful fanciers these days are able to tend there birds 24/7 or have a partner jmo.
gulkie Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 bit like a race horse dannyyou can have the best trainer in the world but if the horse doesnt have it, it wont win imagine steptoes horse and shergar in a race give shergar to a novice trainer and steptoes horse to a top trainershergar would still win no contestCould,nt agree with you more don't care how good the fancier is he/she will never make a poor pigeon a good one
DJWa Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 Could,nt agree with u less I don't care how good the fancier is he/she will never make a poor pigeon a good one thats exactly what ive written
Guest H@wkBait Posted December 2, 2012 Report Posted December 2, 2012 all the fancier its the fancier sets the birds up under his management good fanciers will win with birds others cant win with
William Reid Posted December 4, 2012 Report Posted December 4, 2012 For me pigeon fancier all day long .
Guest geordiejen Posted December 4, 2012 Report Posted December 4, 2012 ok lets put this one into the pot.good pigeon fancier who has purchased lets say average racing pigeons!!!a fancier who has bought top notch birds but doesnt spend much time training his birds, doesnt regularly feed or clean the loft.who would own the best racing pigeons in 5 years time?
dwh Posted December 4, 2012 Report Posted December 4, 2012 A GOOD BIRD WILL ALWAYS BE A GOOD BIRD THEY WIN DESPITE THE FANCIER'S FAILINGSBUT A GOOD FANCIER MAKES A GOOD BIRD A CHAMPION 1 CAN'T EXCEL WITHOUT THE OTHER
billt Posted December 4, 2012 Report Posted December 4, 2012 You have good fanciers and poor fanciers but it will always be good birds that win
