well i suppose today was "day 1" in that the 6 in that section were out from 11.45 this morning until i returned home after dark around 5.40 ish .5 were in the section ,1 latebred cock sat out on sputnik. 1 cock and hen inside flew to another section earlier this year and had not been out for a few months and the hen only been in there for 48 hours .so on that note a good result .will give them as much freedom as is possible from now on. :animatedpigeons:

That's good Andy, wouldn't worry too much about trapping, always different on race days, at least they're out there getting fit, I wish you well

Pot eggs now means sitting 2nd round at time of race. Wonder if this is timed to a certain age of egg or near chipping? Can be good for training (i think), giving them the mind set to get home.

but also first round laid at end of month could have more motivation also.

Thanks Andy for updates, will be interesting to see how this pans out.

UP-DATE , now flying fairly well .i would consider fit enough (under the circumstances) .hoping to get them a few short training chucks in soon ,a little over 2 weeks to go . out for around 5 hours daily , although have kept them in until at least 10 am now ,the hawk is around before that time (and is hopefully finding a meal elsewhere) .currently still on a yb mix , looking to add ,then change that shortly. :animatedpigeons:
