Wiley Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 Wouldn't hesitate a Staffordshire Bullterrier best dogs around birds and children.
just ask me Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 the top 10 most dangerous dogs in the uk one thing i notice is the most of these dogs were originally bred for fighting or pure aggression is this still in there make up even if generations have not been used for fighting etc i believe so
jakie Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 i usually enjoy your posts owen, but that is absolute nonsence.
blaz Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 that graph will be spot on with the dogs on it.most dogs trained properly from a young age can be trained to be good with children adults and other animals.it is a bit harder to train male dogs of the breeds on the graph but it can be done.one of the best things to help train a male dog from the breeds on graph is to have them castrated.no 4 on graph German shepherds have the record for biting the most people in uk yearly .their so easy to train it shows you how many owners don,t put in the time that is needed to train their dog
geordie1234 Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 99% of the time I believe it to the be owner's fault

just ask me Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 lads i have noting against bull breeds at all there cracking looking dogs all im saying is if they do turn bad they mentality is different to most other dogs as i believe the what could happen is that what they have been bred for generation after generation may rise to the surface when they do attack which is to cause as much damage as possible also there well equipped to cause maximum damage where as something like lets say a springier or something similar there mental make up is something different all together

fletch Posted October 5, 2012 Report Posted October 5, 2012 SStaffie she golden might lick u to death but great with kids and birds loves our cat but chases anything else out of garden

gladiator lofts Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 We have several different types of dogs three guard dogs that are out at night and several jack russells that also most of them live outside under the lofts although they ave kennells prefer it under lofts keeps away any vermin although they are good around pigeons most of time they go in and out of loft following me when a late comer returns or the birds are out with no one there i have lost the odd pigeon and found feathers under loft but have never seen them catch a pigeon BUT they are terriers and are natural hunters as said great for vermin as long as you are around when birds are out
William Reid Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 Wouldn't hesitate a Staffordshire Bullterrier best dogs around birds and children. My staffy is 15 weeks old and every day she is getting better with the doos.
Wiley Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 My staffy is 15 weeks old and every day she is getting better with the doos. My staff is 9 she went for the birds once when she was a pup, she never ever done it again. And she is still as lively as a pup, she is more like a sheep(pigeon) dog,it's weird but she knows ever bird in our lofts and if there's a stray shell walk it out of the bunch, amazing really. I have 100% trust with her, she has been brought up with 7 toddlers, and she loves all my nephews and nieces as well as my own son, and treats them as if they was her own pups. Staffs are known as the nanny dogs, it's just mugs who don't treat or train them right and for the wrong purposes that make them have a bad rap.

billt Posted October 6, 2012 Report Posted October 6, 2012 I've 2 Border Collies myself, they don't come in the lofts but are fine with the birds around the yard and I agree Alan only mine would be a size 9
tommy d Posted October 7, 2012 Report Posted October 7, 2012 I have had, 2 Rottweiler’s, 3 German Sheppard’s and a bullmastiff as guard dogs. Never had any problem with any. I used to leave the yb out all day with the door open when I went to work, [wouldn’t do it now because of the hawks] dogs would go in the lofts it never bothered the birds, it’s how you train them. When I was younger I had tumblers in my nanas back garden she had a cat it never bothered the pigeons again it used to go in the shed. It’s like I said how you train your animals.
