andy Burgess Posted September 8, 2012 Report Posted September 8, 2012 11 members sent 107 club birds . liberated 8.15 am in a Lt South West wind. 1st G.Wardaugh vel 1209.2nd D.Grieve vel 1202.3rd Mr & Mrs Burgess vel 1165.4th Davidson Ptnrs vel 1146.5th J.McNeil vel 1130.6th J.McNeil vel 1114. few birds missing at clocks and a lengthy wait for those that have returned .well done Graham who wins the longest youngbird race (again)

Sign of times I suppose. Remember when I was younger and rosewell was a strong club with about 15-18 lofts

Remember when I was younger and rosewell was a strong club with about 15-18 loftsjust a "figure of speech" has 17 flying members .back in Wales when a schoolboy there was 65 plus lofts in our club (all within a mile radius) a sign of the times .

BUT The vast majority wer SHOCKING and wer just hobby guys rather than trying to be competitive??

eastcoaster Posted September 9, 2012 Report Posted September 9, 2012 Gladsmuir sadlyis now all that is left of 5 or 6 clubs that could muster over maybe 100 members and the East of Scotland fed was a fantastic fed now sadly very depleted,Well done Big Graham Wardhaugh he is very under estimated and is a great distance man .Well done Doug on being second again after having a bit of a sh**`y season .

Graham certainly not under-estimated by us . Dougie,s doo was bred by a relative who now lives in the West ???
