yes lads looks good for this weekend from thurso, westerly wind n sunshine, will update with a detailed forecast sat morning

my forecast for offshore down the east side & central north sea is more west north west and good visibility with no rain forecast at the moment

will get a detailed forecast to you between 6 & 7 am tomorrow, usually get out updated weathers for the day just the back of 6am all things being equal, checking the forcast at 17.30 today you should get the birds up n away with no probs

 

PS: how many birds are away bernie ??

bernie, just spoke to ppl in morayshire and it is clear over the moray firth and dry, good visibility also at balmedie just north of aberdeen and it is also clear there & dry

 

weather forecast for central north sea basin from shell nelson platform approx 100 miles east of aberdeen, hope this is of some hope for you lads at thurso

 

wind speed 14 knts gusting 17

 

wind direction 273* westerly

 

QNH: 1012

 

dew point: 14*

 

temp: 14.8 wind chill: 14.8

 

visibility: 15. 320 miles

 

high broken cloud sun breaking through

Thats the first kits of thurso birds going over my loft now 9.05 first large kit of 50/60 birds then some in batches of 10/15 im 12 mile north of aberdeen. great weather here.

 

thurso would be about 80 mile to you dod

40 mph seems a decent speed
