andy Burgess Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 my guess would be ammunition box seals .
Guest grizzler Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 send pics to the british war museum, the would tell you what they are
Tony C Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 my guess would be ammunition box seals . I dont think they're seals................. all the seals I've seen have flippers & shiny black nose's. I agree they look like the type of seal that you crimp on.
greenlands Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 my guess would be ammunition box seals . I'll go with that Andy, two holes to put the wire through and crimp to seal.
showman Posted June 21, 2012 Report Posted June 21, 2012 Me thinks it's a Waffenamt seal. They were used by Germany when various articles had been inspected and passed for use (usually armaments). I can see a number on same which is either 54 or 504. 54 die was used for 20mm case around 1940/41.504 was used for electric switch circa 1943 !!The War Museum will be best for confirmation,or if I'm wrong, they should be better suited to inform you.
