These injuries on the underside of the pigeons and half wing's missing are classic signs of peregrine strike as when the falcon attacks from a greater height and at speed it just goes past the pigeon and catches it from below have watched it many times, had the widowers out early yesterday morning as usual and the male falcon passed within 150 feet with a smaller bird as its target as it struggles to carry a doo back to the female,At least i now no that particular one is sitting so respite for a while :emoticon-0127-lipssealed:

Another one taken by hawk yesterday there is 100s of street pigeons around me but the bassa seems to prefer mine realy pi--ed of now scared to let birds out been letting them out at diffrent times each day to try it out but hawk still around after loosing 8 the last time and a few more that i have not seen what happened to them now down to 11 youngbirds so dont think i will get racing again this year after looking forward to racing them Think now it is time to call it a day

3 days ago a member of our club let out his 55 youngsters at 6am, shortly after a Falcon attacked them scattering them everywhere, 12 hours later only 5 returned, 3 days later hes up to 18 back, no more, a loss of 37 youngsters, FROM THE LOFT! No wonder members are leaving the sport!!!

for me just now it is cruelty to let the birds out before i opened the loft front and the birds would be out in seconds now i have to chase them out not a good way to keep racing pigeons think i will keep fantails as i got 2 to help me out with the hawks (wink, wink) out from morning until night and the hawks have never bothered them put the young racers out and its there
