Guest strapper Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 further tests are ongoing to come to a conclusion what the problem is.
PIGEON_MAN Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 Do members really think its a good idea to start racing when there could be birds on the transporter that could be carrying a potential lethal disease.
just ask me Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 Do members really think its a good idea to start racing when there could be birds on the transporter that could be carrying a potential lethal disease. if they have been given the go ahead they must have there reasons why unions and especially defra wont take many chances
PIGEON_MAN Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 if they have been given the go ahead they must have there reasons why unions and especially defra wont take many chancesJust seems a bit strange that people like Defra would give the go ahead when further tests are ongoing.
just ask me Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 Just seems a bit strange that people like Defra would give the go ahead when further tests are ongoing. until we know the info we wont know why the came to the decision can see where your coming from maybe they have ruled out certain diseases are the affected lofts are still under surveillance there would be standard procedures that they follow im thinking id imagine the paperwork etc for stuff like this is unreal and not a lot left to chance
just ask me Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 Information for Members whpu.co.uk thanks again gail hopefully all be back to normal soon and hopefully the fancier involved dont lose too many birds
Tony C Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 I'd like to applaud all those involved for their honesty & integrity.
peter pandy Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 As I posted earlier D.E.F.R.A. would only test for PMV and give the all clear.
Guest strapper Posted April 18, 2012 Report Posted April 18, 2012 Further Update At 3pm today the WHPU was informed by the ANIMAL HEALTH Veterinary Service that Paramyxovirus HAS been identified in one of the lofts in Wales.  Thankfully due to the actions taken last weekend DEFRA have agreed WE CAN continue racing for the present!  As PARAMYXOVIRUS is a “notifiable†disease DEFRA have now taken over control of the measures regarding the original “outbreak†at lofts in Wales  In Summary – PARAMYXOVIRUS is confirmed!
