geordie1234 Posted February 17, 2012 Report Posted February 17, 2012 read once you should always crush garlic ti get the good out of itHeard similar although I watched a video of an American guy he stabbed the clove with a sharp knife to release the contents
victorious Posted February 17, 2012 Report Posted February 17, 2012 i used it before but truthfully cant see any difference in condition, one thing i do know the birds hate the taste of it,as mine are on open hole if they can get water elsewere they wont touch their own, my friend uses it every day and his birds are no better condition than my own, i cant be bothered with it anymore iam goin leave it out but one thing i should add is i have wild garlic growing in the garden and the birds are forever stripping the leaves of them they cant get enough of them all year round.
PATTY BHOY Posted February 17, 2012 Author Report Posted February 17, 2012 read once you should always crush garlic ti get the good out of it WAS THINKING MAYBE CUT THE COVE IN HALF THEN ADD TO THE WATER.

THE FIFER Posted February 17, 2012 Report Posted February 17, 2012 I plant cloves in pots and once grown leave around the loft the birds pick it bare ,
andy Burgess Posted February 17, 2012 Report Posted February 17, 2012 ive used it and missed a season without it , i think what benefits there are effect the health not the performance of the pigeon . if they are looking for it ,then they must crave it .i think in many ways the birds know better than the fancier what they need or want .
victorious Posted February 17, 2012 Report Posted February 17, 2012 I plant cloves in pots and once grown leave around the loft the birds pick it bare , PROBABLY AS GOOD AS PUTTING THE CLOVES IN THE WATER.
alec guinness Posted February 17, 2012 Report Posted February 17, 2012 been using garlic since the 70s,garlic crusher crush clove into drinker and top up the next day, thats the way we have always done it.
THE FIFER Posted February 17, 2012 Report Posted February 17, 2012 I use it all the time in the bath water, keeps the birds clean, and good for clearing their nostrils
Guest ljb107 Posted February 18, 2012 Report Posted February 18, 2012 I normally crush one clove, put it in the drinker and keep on topping it up everyday for a week. Then i give clear water for a week. I then put apple cider vinegar in the water and keep topping it up for a week. Lloyd
