rikki Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 just cant get it at all? why would any fancier want to give a bird to a complete stranger to race when the art of pigeon racing lies in the hand o the fanciers ability to condition his bird to beat the masses?
sapper756 Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 Some fanciers who constantly experience BOP attacks at their lofts, may choose this as an alternative to racing to their own lofts. Also many fanciers like to see their birds race under other fanciers methods and conditions, JMO
rikki Posted February 5, 2012 Author Report Posted February 5, 2012 alternative! why would anybody want to watch another fancier race his bird ?this still does not answer the question?the art of pigeon racing was deemed to be left in the hands o the fancier ?
rikki Posted February 5, 2012 Author Report Posted February 5, 2012 naff all to do with the art o racing pigeons ,money is no substitute to reconition of the praise o other fanciers,!!
andy Burgess Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 can also give you 2 bite,s of the cherry .if a good fancier/flyer buys one of yours .

alec guinness Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 just cant get it at all? why would any fancier want to give a bird to a complete stranger to race when the art of pigeon racing lies in the hand o the fanciers ability to condition his bird to beat the masses? another wee slant rikki i see you are in dalry in all fairness just about impossible for you to beat your cousins on the east coast particulary with youngsters, maybe a chance to test your stock in a one loft race. :(

Tony C Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 A good social side to pigeon racing is a positive that shouldn't be underestimated. Many a good friendship have been made through these type of events. Nothing to do with the art of 'pigeon racing' perhaps! but for me I'd rather forge a friendship than sit there and dwell on what I might or might not have sitting in the loft and how capable I am at racing them.
andy Burgess Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 yer no getting awae wih that!sent i yearling tae marlbourgh last year it beat plenty fae the east ,2yr ago younger brother 2nd open snfc he beat plenty in the east, keep thinking! what the hell has that got to do with "Futurity racing" ,i am really begining to lose the plot now
ovy1255 Posted February 5, 2012 Report Posted February 5, 2012 nothing to do with pigeons but loads of guys get a lot of pleasure from haveing a bet at the local bookies but most dont want to be a jockey or own a horse,we all get our pleasures from pigeons in different ways ,racing on saturday in some areas on wednesday some like to show their birds some just like to keep them-fantails ,rollers etc.some send their birds off to try them elsewhere and all on hear have watched WULDON,S birds and seen how they are doing.so we all get our enjoyment in different ways-and if its all for money 99.9% of us are doing something wrong.
