Andy take a picture of a youngbirds wing you are not going to race so as you dont loose it then after the moult take another picture of same wing and study the diffrence

currently breeding a couple of "potentials" for future stock John , so they could be ideal for this ,thanks.

 

Your very into all facts Pigeon Andy,good doo man me thinks ! leave no stone unturned.

i enjoy pigeon racing very much Colin ,have only kept them a few years ,but from a pigeon family .my late Father used to win out of turn ,and actually put me off when weekly the results were read Mr Burgess 1,2,3,4,5th etc . i wish i had asked the many questions i now have . :emoticon-0127-lipssealed:

You are already getting there with some good results and sure of more to come .

Think i'll do that, this subject is really interesting, considering the focus for as long as i can remember has always been that the Primary flights indicated the distance most suited to that particular bird.

The only way you get to know anything in life is to ask the questions

heres one thats just sprung up , those later bred birds i will not race , what if they dont complete a full wing moult ?? have had it before ,raced the following year still carrying nest flights ??

Aye but its the secondary flights we're looking at Andy, so i imagine ye would still get a good reading from its inners. I THINK

well theres another lesson for me to learn John , my knowledge regarding wing pattern type and distance doesnt "go that far" pardon the pun :emoticon-0136-giggle:

Are you getting your primaries and secondary's mixed there John
