Ali v Tyson

At work today we had a debate who would win a fight out of muhammed ali vs mike tyson,

was wondering what others think as it was quite a good debate,

my views are that ali would be too clever for tyson

shamefully in reality ,Ali certainly not well enough now . in his heyday ,my money would have been on him ,he would have convinced us all he would win.                      andy.

tyson fought fighters that were afraid of him not his fault but the hevery weights around at tysons time leave a  lot to be desired  a powerfull fighter he was tyson never got pushed when he was at his best in his 20s

 

 

ali had figters that were great fighters around him foreman liston and goes on and on

 

 

for me ali he was great at a number of things

Ali of course. Does one really think that a Joe Frazier was less trouble than Tyson  :-/

Frazier had power, grit and determination. Was relentless and just didn't back off.... And unlike Tyson wasn't a Bully Boy and stood up to be counted. Tyson looked for the canvass when Buster Douglas wouldn't caw wao to him. Was finished then as every body knew 'Face Tyson and he'll flee. Yes lame excuses etc. the lot.... But having slatting him off ther, he was one hell of a fighter.... especially when on top. But in reality wouldn't get ointo the top 20 all time greats, let alone top 10.

Liston would have frightened him so bad he'd have bit the referee's ear to get chucked out be fore it started  ;D

Tyson at 21 was the most ferocious fighter that ever lived.Unstoppable at one stage, he would have chased Ali all over the ring and eventually would have caught him. 2 fights out of 3, Tyson would have murdered him, jmo

tyson wouldnt stand a chance against the old flought like a butterfly sting like a bee ali would be to fast for him and were him down look what lewis did to him trained the same style as ali go out fast jabs keep him on the end of the jab tyson didnt no what hit him.

Tyson wasnt a fighter when he fought Lewis.Im talking about Tyson at 21, nobody came close to him. Granted, Tyson didnt keep his peak for very long and went downhill very quickly.

I just looked at the results 15-2 in favour of Ali, he was a little before my time but he must have been out this world because Tyson was fantastic ;)

delusion comes tol mind here del boy is right all people see is tyson's power.please do look at rhe videos tyson at at 21 was ustoppable his awesome power was there 4 everybody to see but uner damato teddy atlas and kevin rooney he was turned into the most formidable BOXER ever his hand speed and his abiltity to slip punches were as good maybe not better but as good ali's his hand speed was backed up by the power to kknock any opponant out with 1 punch something ali never had they developed a technique in the gym that was tranfered into the ring.watch the videos his head movemnt and ability to slip punches was phenomenal different but as good as ali's as for tyson being athug out of the ring he destroyed himself with the help of robin given and don king which consequently ruined his career(not making excuses)but in boxing he was a student with a knowledge econd to none who waatched and studied all the greats. the final nail in ali's coffin in my arguement is joe frazier if you know why  get back to me as 4 opponents  who did ali beat of any worth not at 21 or so he won the title from a man who fell down he was'nt knoced down (liston) VIDEO proves this. everybody goes on about tysons intimidation of opponents ali was the master at this only in a different way.who would TYSON :o :o 8)

At his best,Tyson would have beaten Ali,he was a murderous fighter,that Ali wouldnt have been abl;e to keep off,Ali never found it that comfortable,like most big guys,when they had to punch downwards,and Tyson being comparitevly small,and semi crouched in his style ,appearing smaller,would have made Ali look pretty ineffective.

p/p don't get me wrong ali was a great champ and (i stand corrected ) desereved to win the title from liston  but tyson was fast strong and had aself belief ali would not have shaken and the question about frazier the final fight frazier was nearly blind in one eye ali closed the other one and still could'nt stop him. tyson was like frazier very aggressive but better ring craft a lot lot faster a better boxer.but the bst fight i ever watched (on telly)ali v frazier they fought to a standstill yes ali won but frazier was virtually blind 8)
