Every time i go into the loft lately there is a new cock covered in blood . any suggestions ?

alex young Posted December 30, 2011 Report Posted December 30, 2011 A mate of mine used to get this happening, but he never exercised his cocks during the winter and fed heavy(in my opinion). He started to exercise them w/ends and put them on a light feed and they became less aggressive. This may not be your problem, just a thought.atb.
OLDYELLOW Posted December 30, 2011 Report Posted December 30, 2011 elastic band there legs enough so can walk but not spread there legs if can't spread there legs then they can't fight , with this amount of aggression in your loft your probably better just to keep the aggressive ones locked up and feed and water in there box
just ask me Posted December 30, 2011 Report Posted December 30, 2011 noticed this year for some strange reason our widows are fighting with each other . mostly the 2 and 3 year olds is this normal ? and will they settle down after they are paired up . had the same last year but only with one cock , but this year there is about 4 to 5 of them . Every time i go into the loft lately there is a new cock covered in blood . any suggestions ? for me its quite normal as i quite like aggressive birds usually there 1 or 2 cocks to blame trying to take over a second box i lock the trouble makers up for 2 or 3 days in there own box only letting them out when im in the loft if they are trying then to take over the second box i just carefully catch him by the tail and let the box owner give him a small going over pushing him out of the box some people say remove the trouble makers i would never do that as i find there easily motivated
