WulDon Posted January 4, 2012 Author Report Posted January 4, 2012 Hi Guys... just back from an excellent week in Las Americas, on the sunny island of Tenerife. Took the opportunity of visiting the One Loft Race in Tenerife organised by Jose Ledesema, this has been my second visit to the lofts and once again the birds were in excellent health and the lofts were spotlessly clean. Myself and some other fanciers witnessed the 7th & 8th Training races on 29th & 31st December, had a good crack with Fred McClusky from the UNC and races as the Blues Brothers in the OLR, Fred finished 3rd in the final last year, as well as some local fanciers who spoke very good english. Both training races went really well with almost full returns from both, the 8th training race the birds were doing in excess of 60mph, it was a great great sight to watch batches of hundreds of pigeons just seconds behind one another literally motoring to the lofts... both training movies can be viewed on the Derby Arona website now... Glad to report that all the Scottish entrants are still in contention , and won the following from these training races: 7th Training Race:William Donachie 109, 824, 945, 1200Jock Ross 268, 524, 535, 745, 1243Elspeth Morrison 316, 440Team Doolanders 647, 1009, 1041, 1154, 1230 8th Training Race:Jock Ross 92, 645, 703, 773, 974Elspeth Morrison 112, 306Team Doolanders 394, 431, 544, 978, 1143William Donachie 1051, 1124, 1135, 1181 Next Training race is on the 5th January and will be the first off shore flight.. approx 75km
