K J Young Posted October 13, 2011 Report Posted October 13, 2011 Two races this year that I could,nt split , the last old bird race from thurso with ayrshire north road fed 1st,2nd & 3rd club , 1st ,2nd & 7th fed . Not sure of Birdage and 1st eight in club and 1st ,2nd ,3rd 4th ,16th, 17th, 18th & 19th fed from 2100 birds at first young bird race with ballochmyle fed .

Guest Quarry Lofts Posted October 13, 2011 Report Posted October 13, 2011 I had a few good ones this year and it would be hard for me to split 1st,2nd,3rd,4th,6th club 1st,2nd,6th,13th Fed 2000+ birds approx1st & 3rd fastast in DC 3065 birds i had the first 7 in club from maidstone national & 1st 8 in the club from last inland race i also took in ybs1st,2nd,4th club 1st & 2nd Fed 1180 birds approx1st fastast in DC 2116 birdsaswell as winning 6 from the 8 yb races in the club and the 2 i was beat in i bred my father the winner inc it winning 1st Fed from yb nat But 1 year is never the same as the next so we just hope we have a good season again next year Jimmy
1st fed winner Posted October 13, 2011 Author Report Posted October 13, 2011 my best race was the last yb race from yelverton when i topped the fed with a van reet cock won by 5 yards but the week before was also good the pigeon came like a bullet he was going that fast he couldnt slow down lost loads of time but was 4th fed still good but he should of won the fed that week never mind.

Guest strapper Posted October 13, 2011 Report Posted October 13, 2011 winning the fed by 32yrds in a sprint race with a natural hen birdage of 3,785...... 1,326 birds in my section. dunno if its my best race but most successful in the 7 old bird races i flew.

Cogburn Posted October 13, 2011 Report Posted October 13, 2011 Try to enjoy every race but the highlight was the SNFC Ypres race,a hadnae looked on the computer or checked the lib line before hand so when the doo came screaming out the south at the back ae 5 we were all buzzin Ended up 6th open SNFC,lookin forward to seeing what this hen does next year

1st fed winner Posted October 13, 2011 Author Report Posted October 13, 2011 Top raceing every1 there is nothing better then seeing a pigeon roll in wings back, i can remember a few years back we sent over the water in a combine race and my dad had a fav pigeon what he sent what used to land on him when it was feed time anyway my dad was in the garden waiting for the birds, they was due when out of the sky this pigeon came rolling in to the loft saw my dad and nearly took his head off lol you should of seen it my dad still laughs about it to this day he was 1st club 9 combine cant remember the fed but he was up there good times.

yeboah Posted October 13, 2011 Report Posted October 13, 2011 Best race with old birds was a difficult Melton Mowbray into a NE wind ,took 1st 2ND & 4Th Club also sixth fed,couple weeks later with same blue cock 1st club 3rd section 4Th open SNFC Marlborough ,then after all the early mornings and hard work loosing all my best birds at the disaster that was our gold cup

ovy1255 Posted October 14, 2011 Report Posted October 14, 2011 well had a bit luck here and there got a few positions in the saturday club got on the fed sheet a few times was combined average points winner at the wednesday 6 bird club but for me this year the west durham amal young bird national sticks in my mind,we have 4 clubs in our fed and at fed read off for maidstone 5121birds flying approx 272 miles our club took first 4 in fed then 6-7 then9-10 so our club took 8 out of ten.i was 3rd club 3rd fed 54 W.D.Amal flying against the cream of the n/eastWELL PLEASED.wda maidstone.htm
