sometimes they do that once you start training

That's why you shouldn’t start training them until two or three weeks before the first race. They can be flying great around the loft or ranging for hours at a time but once you start training you need to keep it up regular as they just want to sit around after you start to take them down the road.

You need to chase them every time they land on that roof, the only place they should land is on the loft and then in. If you don't they will come from the race on a Saturday and sit up there looking atyou!! I go to extraordinary lengths to chase my Yb's from any roof they land on, they soon learn the only place "safe" to land is the loft. After they get the drift they never land on roof again

Always found once ye start yer babies on the road they'll no fly as well round the hut-so not too much to worry about I'd think.

Was told by a pigeon racing god though. If yer young birds arnae flying well round home there is one of two things you can do

1) get them tested

2) add barley to their feed

Good reply John ,tennis ball does wonders after couple of days prob solved ,would also agree with other reply could be bit overfed cut out the protein and keep them we bit short should sort prob if they have been cankered and are free from respiratory. :emoticon-0157-sun:
