but I think irrespective if its successful or not it will probably at the agm get changed back as people will be losing there overfly

racing from the west is very advantageous to the guys racing in the north east sides of races in clubs feds etc when the wind is prevailing west the strongwer the better :emoticon-0137-clapping:

the thing that has to be remembered is that when the lanarkshire went back down the west a few years ago,we changed it back to the east before the young bird racing.it was only because some of the BIG BOYS IN THE LANARKSHIRE,lost some old birds.not taken into account that the birds that were lost had not been down the west before, marlborough proves this to be true,if we are going to go down the west at any point in the future then we have to start at the young bird racing, and teach them the west route, you would have good racing with your yearlings the following year, but you would probably lose a few old birds that had not seen a west route

when we moved back east mid season was nothing to do with THE BIG BOYS!!! there was an egm called which took nearly 300 signature's to call the meeting to have a vote to move back east

i just can't see nearly 300 voting to move back down the west !!!

Why dont the Lanarkshire members who fancy the west route go with the Midland fed with their ybs.If all is well at end of season and they enjoyed it then they have proof at the AGM that they should fly down the west.

I WOULD NEVER GO BACK DOWN THE WEST ROUTE , I WOULD PACK IN FIRST

YOU CAN HARDLY GET BIRDS FROM A TRAINER SOUTH OF ABINGTON FAR LESS RACE EM THROUGH THERE ,, HAVE LOST FAR TO MANY BIRDS ON THE WEST SIDE ESPECIALLY FROM LOCKERBIE TO LANCASTER AFTER THAT IT PROB IS A BIT BETTER BUT ONLY BECAUSE THE BIRDS FLY EAST AND MOVE AROUND THE HOT SPOT ATTAK AREAS AND ARE NOT LIBED IN THEM . Racing down the west would be more adavantageous for me personnaly as i would get more miles and first drop of birds normally , but would still rather go east just to hang onto some birds as couldny keep many in the west side

another thing we forgewt asweel is when every one used to race the west route so did some of the biggest north road combines asweel right up to perth and beyond from london wales etc 30,000 birds at times , so did they not clash then asweel , they also stopped racing up the west side and went south east and north east as the hawkes were decimating them asweel :cry-blow:

is there not any hawks on the east coast

The thing about going the west route into the west of Scotland is that in the hills down in dumfries the pigeons only have a football park or 2's width to get away from the hawks making them very easy targets and giving them less of a chance of getting away :( :( :(

Don't think there was a race last year that club members did not report losses and this again was reflected in the number of birds going to the later races.I had one reported dead up on the moors (english side)we are flying through National Park areas guy out for a walk found it said your birds have no chance flying through here place is full of Percy.Devil if you do devil if you don't.Tim Hall told me last year when we were at Dunbar and Berwick our birds were flying through heavily populated percy country hence the reason he gave up the birds
