lambing live..anyone been watching it?

on bbc 2 each night 8pm.

 

i think its good viewing just a mile or two from me,i know the family too ;)

 

its an eye opener ,and shows how hard a farmer has to work.

Yea ive been watching. Will have to upload photos of our lambs this year.

 

The farmer needs to rid of that bloody beard though  ;D

been helping local farmer out same farmer that lets us run the dogs on his land help him out at harvest as well we havent stopped he has already lost 2 lambs to foxs haveing them i be sorting that problem out over the next few nights with my oldman very hard work for the farmers this time of year and july when the harvest starts back up

Ditto, great programme.  Phoned my friend in Yorkshire to see if she was watching LOL she has a tv in the barn while she has her sleeves rolled up helping her hubby with the lambing  :)

ah well looks like i'll be watching it aswell now that you've mentioned it wouldnt mind getting into the farming game there was a young farmers meeting here in the hotel im in in brechin an the talent was second to none (female talent that is)ometimes you just dont mind lending a helping hand lol. ;)

the one brother that runs the butchers shop i was in school with...jim was in a year or two below me.

the butcher shop they show ,has only been open for them under 6 months..was a butchers b4.

good clean shop..and good looking meat.

it would be ideal to folow a farmer as this instance throughout the year and see the ups and downs they go through.

maybe get the supermarkets then to pay more for the farmers produce..espeially milk. ;)

 

i think its a top programme..even though i maybe biast because its in my town :)

Paul I have always loved the Countryside and Farming. As a young lad I always wanted to be a Farmer, but grew up and lived in a concrete jungle for 55 years. Now living in the countryside here in Norfolk, all I see here is fields of cereal crops, sugar beet and Turkey sheds. I would love to work on a farm with livestock, and now retired, and given the opportunity would do it for nothing, I would be in my element.

its the same here bob..this is a market town surounded by countryside and mountains.

ive always been into the life of the countryside...so easy and lucky when its on our doorstep :)

you would have to pay them :-) you just want to be close to the sheep :-) :-) ;D

I know what you mean, we have a small farm here just 6 ewe's left to work my young sheep-dogs, my other passion, we had 120 ewe's at one time, watching the prog. last eve. my wife said perhaps we should get some more, it can be very addictive especially when you see the lamb charge as we called it, funny they run the same coarse every year, even funnier when a yearling ewe joins in  :)

Been a great programe so far,the lambing part will be good for some of these townies who don't know much about farm life,see it most days in the field behind my lofts.
