gulkie Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 unicon] I will keep using it but the cost of these rings is just an othernail in the coffin of our great sport. wullie surely we can buy the batteries from a different source, but can we .John
jonl6280 Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 don't see why not , surely its a case of matching the batteries, unless it voids a warranty, but they getting older so i think the warranty might be up?
dal2 Posted February 22, 2011 Report Posted February 22, 2011 i dont see the point in them, for me the whole part of pigeon racing,is seeing ur bird drop, gettin it in and rushing around like a blue ass fly to put rubber in clock,if i asked my club to use ets, they would laugh at me...wots point spending 100s of pounds, wen u can get a cheap stb or t3 todo the same job? The enjoyment on race day has been enhanced by ETS. No panic striken doos, no jammed buckets, no dodgy till rolls, nae filthy ink pads, nae strike on a friday night. No entry forms, nae fibbin aboot returns, nae rubbers and birds in baskets in half the time!!!!

knoxjn Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 my understanding is if the silver strip is tampered with and its the only way into the pocket clock the clock is ilegal it has to be done with a recognised company ie the suppliers just as any repairs done on the old clocks had to be with shu recognised clock repairers this may have changed since i was a club secretary

PIGEON_MAN Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 does anyone know the cost of the batteriesAs anyone actually had their batteries changed yet, there as been different times branded about as to how long the batteries will last,I believe the Scottish fanciers have had there systems a few years before fanciers down here so I dont think they are due to be changed yet,I personally have Bricon when I asked Mark Palmer about the batteries in my clock as I was one of the first to have the system in my area,he asked me to check the code number on the clock and then said bring your clock in and instead of changing the batteries just gave me a brand new one,no charge, somehow I cant see Unikon doing that.
Ian McKay Posted February 23, 2011 Report Posted February 23, 2011 Had my Unikon batteries changed after 5 1/2 yrs
