I personally don`t buy this east west devide, now i know i have just moved here and i could`nt teach anyone about how to fly doo`s def not from 500 mls BUT what is it that makes doo`s that score in the east that says they CAN`T score in the west ? in most cases your top flyers had to get them from the flat plains of england to start with so my personal belief is the management and aclimitis`n (spelling)because top bred doo`s are top bred doo`s .

Afraid I cant give you an answer to that ,but can only tell you that we have had much more luck /success with birds from the west of Scotland than we ever have with ones from the east???!!!

I think theres a lot of Irish Fanciers, got the Long Distance Birds. Imagine, racing from France, thru English Channel, England, Irish Water final destination wherever in Ireland. They've got amazing birds.

the birds racing from from Perth thurso etc in Scotland are tougher birds i think racing into mostly a south west went down in to south east and south west of Ireland

although the major competition in Ireland is defiantly on south road so defiantly harder to win a national on south road from france etc due to the level of competition amount of flyers amount of birds and so on

Thanks for the info. Any info about any member of PB's got a bird as a Lerwick winner. We been on Cairn Gorm last Jan. What a beautiful high mountain, really. It's amaze me any winner from Thurso. Can get back home during the race, when there's no much to see because of the fog. How much more from Lerwick. :)

I understand the points of view on the east and west, north and south thing and that certain doos don't do as well in other areas but am I not correct in saying theirs a man thats won the West Section 7 times and the father of his loft was out a pigeon that was a Macmerry egg??

Along the same lines theres a man thats won the North Section over 20 times with pigeons that originate in Annan??

500/600 mile Scottish Athletes are engineered to perfection who are in turn bred from ace racers and producers and only 2% get the ultimate test with only the strongest surviving.

Nobody ever said that the birds from the east were no good. Theres good birds everywhere but there are also easier areas to fly into. Its a known fact in pigeondom that the further east you are , the easier it is and also, the shorter you fly from the longer distances, the easier it is for you. Now, if you fly short and stay in the east, youve won a watch.( at the distance races )

I think theres a lot of truth in what your saying.Correct me here if i am wrong but was Anderson & Brown of kirkys best breeding hen not bred by Ewart Warwick of Bridekirk??

i dont think at this present time they fly from thruso and lerwick (probably wrong) they did back in 90s as i say the north road nationals are not now what they once were jmo even perth to southern Ireland is a nice fly
