Wiley Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Does anyone give echinacea or any other preventative for repiratory or does anyone give ornistop during the racing season, If so at what point during the young and old bird season ? i only treat if i feel they need it. However when i do treat i make sure there head is clear before i put any respiratory treatment to them, i do this by using slipsonal or nazeline. Then i would put them onto a respiratory treatment, as it will make sure all nasal tracts are clear and open Does anyone give echinacea or any other preventative for repiratory or does anyone give ornistop during the racing season, If so at what point during the young and old bird season ? i only treat if i feel they need it. alex young Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 Does anyone give echinacea or any other preventative for repiratory or does anyone give ornistop during the racing season, If so at what point during the young and old bird season ?Echinacea is one of the 15 different herbs that makes up Naturaline, which has a benefical effect on the respiratory tracts amongst other things.I use it all year round and every day for my young birds as it increases the PH levels.
Wiley Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 http://shop.ebay.co.uk/?_from=R40&_trksid=m570&_nkw=nazaline the one with the red label looks like the original gear
mcclaff Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 i bought Nazaline from e-bay last year and applied some to some hens before i basketed them. I ended up not sending them as i thought i'd wrecked them! Their eyes were streaming and beaks wide open gasping for breath, and they looked like they were gonna do a back flip!! certainly cleared them out though, next day they looked a picture but i thought it was a bit rough and didn't use it again. Is this the way birds are expected to react to this stuff as it shocked me a wee bit? one drop in each nostril was all i gave

Guest Owen Posted January 5, 2011 Report Posted January 5, 2011 I am surprised that you think you have to prop your birds up with drugs. Why not sort you ventilation out and save yourself some money and a lot of worry.
