5 days ago I could buy diesel for £1-23.9 now its £1-27.9 4p in as many days. Very shortly we have a rise in VAT as well as inflation what price will it be when we start training??. and how many will be forced to quit after next season 2011 with rising cost's corn and fuel ect??

hard times all round... we cut costs by training together, about 4 of us all in the one van and buying corn in bulk direct from suppliers at cost price cutting out the middle men, gone are the days when pockets are being lined with crazy corn prices! most fanciers are still literally being ripped off imo...

IMO you have to adapt.....develop excersize routines around the loft...cultivate strains that keep themselves fit at home....change diets.....spend less on buying birds to release cash for fuel....keep less birds (particularly ybs)

It's life m8 many yrs ago can u remember when the fuel protests where on the protests that nearly brought the country to a standstill? How many folks on this forum can say they participated in them protests, hand on heart i can honestly say i was one of the hauliers that stood there all day all nite outside the Cowlick fuel refineries here in Notts fighting for the likes of everyone else that couldn't be arsed or for the fact in there words could not get involved for the fact they had mortgages and could not afford to have time off work i also had a mortgage did not stop me protesting......... Like everything else majority of English folks want everyone else to do the fighting for them.... Now x amount of yrs on it's not the 1st post i have read i doubt it will be the last folk noticing the fuel prices.....

we are in a failing sport, its not just fuel prices its all the other cost involved so I will change the post slightly. How many are thinking of giving up at the end of 2011

politics is the biggest downfall of this sport, fanciers are being forced out the sport for a whole host of reasons... if the cost was the main issue we would just keep less doos... anybody who has thought about jacking up or is thinking about it i'll bet you it is all to do with the way there organisation is being run.... and as always this is JMO

I presume if a majority of folks thought like that we might as well call it a day now and save what it will cost us this yr in fuel, corn, club fee's rings etc etc etc.... Another thing is what ever u got u can't take it with you so might as well just get on with it.....

Not a daft thing training all weather(not strong winds)Percy, I would have thought less likely to strike and that's a big bonus. :egyptian::egyptian:
