Rooster J. Cogburn Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 No doubt a few will be looking to pair shortly some maybe already have.In an ideal world we'd like improve upon improvement and get better every year, doesn't always work that way going into the breeding season and next years racing are you and your team in a stronger or a weaker position than you were this time last year?
greenlands Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 Me weaker, pigeons I hope stronger.I bought some new blood in last year gave them four races (upto 100ml) then stopped them, hopefully see if they are any good this next season??

I was in a fairly similar situation last year.I hadn't raced a pigeon since 2007 so most of the youngsters I raced in 09 were or off of new doos I'd got in.After 4 races to 155mile I was left with 36.After this years OB programme I've 25 of the 36 left most of them are out of Leicester(255) or Maidstone(380).Got a wheen of youngsters left this year so it gives me plenty to be getting on with for next season.Fingers crossed I'll get some across the channel
JohnQuinn Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 I've probably got more well bred doos in my lofts just now than at Any other time, so i'm optimistic going into next season and beyond. However as you say things don't always turn out as we would like but i suppose that is part of the intrigue of keeping the doos.
Guest Tooshy Boy Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 WORST. I HAVE NO PIGEONS IN THE LOFT THAT HAVE RACED.THEY HAVE NOT BEEN TRAINED .DUE TO ME BEING IN AND OUT OF HOSPITAL JUST HAVE TO TRY AGAIN. KEEP MY FINGERS CROSSED THEY MIGHT BE SOMETHING THERE.///
dal2 Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 My younguns from last year wer very disappointing returns wise, which was my fault for pushing too hard, this has left me short on yearlins. No a disaster but them yearlins should be my 2yr olds for 2012 channel campaign which is wot its all about for me!
Chris Little Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 A lot stronger, strongest for a few years, bring it on !!!
Guest IB Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 I'd like to think as each year passes I become a little bit stronger by putting what I've learned (through my mistakes and others' experiences) into practice. That includes getting the blinkers off.
fletch Posted December 19, 2010 Report Posted December 19, 2010 have less pigeons but ybs have never had so many races so will be in a similar postion as last year but will have good expectaition
sapper756 Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 I would like to think that I have a more improved team of birds for racing next season, and anything I do decide to bring in, hopefully they will strengthen my team. Only time will tell thoughhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/emoticon-0138-thinking.gif
yeboah Posted December 20, 2010 Report Posted December 20, 2010 Definitely got some class birds to work with this coming season ,tried roundabout last season and really enjoyed the experience ,made a mistake halfway through the season but have since had some very good advice from some of the top fanciers in my region looking forward to the coming season with optimism ,reverting back to natural ybs this season pairing stock up around mid march ,enjoyed the darkies for the last few years but with the way yb losses are don't think its worth it would like to concentrate more on the doos as yearlings upwards
