no problem spraying the loft with the birds in it or in the aviary.

If your worried about it then just basket the birds and spray or burn!

Mine is'nt the light 1 Archie it's a big industrial 1 for roof felting with a 2ft flame when it's turned up full blast (not that you ever need to use it on full in the loft) ;) ;)

you get those burners fron the garden centres for burning weeds, very light and handy, but as stated be very careful when using as dry eood catches very easy,

"Eood" that is Fife slang for wood ;D ;D ;D

If you are not sure about scorching try it on a spare bit of wood before you try the loft, if spraying do not have it too fine that it will carry in the air too much or too heavy that it will take hours to dry out, we use virkon and jeyes fliud in the summer :-/

len do you use kerosene in loft it must make mess on birds

No never !!!!!!!! I use it in the summer period etc when the weather is rather hot here, so the lofts drys out quite quickly, before I let the birds back in.  Thou !!!!!!!!  :P :P :P the lofts certainly have a smell to them, I can tell you in all honesty. But then ???????? the birds have never told me etc what they think.

Enjoy.
