Think you must be talking solely about the North of the border there bigda as seems to be going OK down here.

The NRCC has brought back Saxa Vord to its program for 2011 - Hopefully the members will ensure it stays there now and if so both members and committee are to be commended for it. (543 miles to us)

is saxa vord an additional race? or instead of lerwick?...either way i'm not going...this year was my first lerwick and i didn't enjoy it one bit.... it was brutal. maybe again one day :)

you don't even pool in yer open, as that shows, when it comes to putting yer money down. yer all gub even to put 10 p on the bird age, has you all jumping ship to another union i know all about the coffin dodgers and there ways , bigda as is. the longest race this year distance men, what how many birds. come come let them all know, you could have sent them by courier, in fact i think next year they will be applying for the contract

Wondered how many pigeons you have committed to distance racing? And yes, if 9.30pm Saturday is on the day of liberation, more than happy to be a dafty seeing my pigeon home at that time. :D

Surely going on a rant about it isny going to help anyone mate

yes up here vallance, they cant" agree about the distance, or there union, or the early libs, and the cost of going to the distance, down to 400 birds from once it was 10,000 and think the longest race was 250 birds

dont know where you get your figures from but if its the gold cup it has never had a 10000 entry. 7000+ in the heyday of the 70s down to about 1200 now in keeping with the rest of pigeon racing.

your going to join it George, great but before i think about it there is money for a new transporter

that hasn't been got as yet, ask for me George, where and when, there is going to be a new one

or is there any intention to hand it back to the members, or have 3 free years subsciptions these are the thing that should come to the fore, let the members and the public know how wonderfull they are. me looking at it from this side looks As thow the committee have only left feet and are going around in circles, just like the haggis on a hill

Walter, the late joe murray from ecclefechan won the gold cup in 1976 from a record entry of 7953,joe worked at the time for my late uncle stan scott of wamphray who also won the ybn from cheltenham that same year from an entry of 4952,1976 was the very hot dry summer with the first three in the gold cup being 1st ,south, east and west sections and yet the weather broke in september and i am sure the yb were held for many days the rain again set in after liberation with the winning vel being 835. :)

i had no birds away that race and was in to wilsons i left when it was dark robbie mc donald was leaving at that time and i went home about 3miles to inverallochy it was about i think 11pm when the phone rang and wilson said he just timed his hen fantastic performance the hrs of darkneswas 4-45am to 10-45 pm and i am sure this was why the hrs of darkness was changed to 4-30am to 11pm by this birds outstanding performance which i may add has never been another bird timed flying so far and so late at night 17 hrs on wing a true champion

i must agree with you there Walter, thats what you call real national racing, the rest is only made up with middle distance birds, with modest velocities Walter can you explain to me how and when and what month you have to be a member of the Nat and what month you have to hand in yer resignation thanks walter bigda as is here for the members that know nothing

think within the next 3 years there will be no more long distance races, all inland, fanciers cant be bothered with the camping out late anymore, and the north lads cant manage to get a early liberation

at 4-30 am but in all fairness they should be accommodated, as been the furthest fliers , unless they can get the hours of darkness changed from 4-30 am 5-30 am there chances are getting slimmer every year, as to win the gold cup

why have a 4-30 am hours of darkness when they are never let up at that time , most i have spoken too have come out and said for the few years that are left the inland races will do them , shame really

other than the gold cup he says it would have been finished a few years ago

i seem to find it the oppersite way around down here more and more flyers seem to be joining the mnfc ect to get more distance raceing espeacially if you have 1-2 flyers dominating the inland races :)

but what about when you hand in a resignation when has that to be in by, also can a penalty's stop you from racing in other feds and clubs for the sake of £6 - pound -£20 pound is that in the rule book and will that not have an effect on membership

Walter seems you can join the Nat on the day for a £10 if yer getting ferried with them
