REDCHEQHEN Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 If they are twisting their necks and throwing seed about - they have PMV, sometimes pigeons survive - sometimes they do not there are lots of videos on you tube to do with pigeon disease
PIGEON_MAN Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 Does sound like Paramyxo, you say you first noticed this 3-4 weeks ago but you vaccinated 2 weeks ago,was it vaccine for paramyxo that you used, when was the last time you vaccinated for this as it sounds like they may have caught the disease before you jabbed them.
DOVEScot Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 It looks like they have taken a reaction to the vaccine, Twisted neck(star gazing) is a sign of the brain being infected and overheating it could be any number of things including paramyxo or pigeon menangitis, best to get the vet to do a live post mortem and find out the true cause it may be that you will lose a few if not all your birds but I would cull any showing signs of twisted neck Here is a good sight for general knowledge on pigeo ailmentshttp://www.pigeonrescue.co.uk/injuries.htm

Delboy Posted November 25, 2010 Report Posted November 25, 2010 I used chevita p-200 this year and my later bred ybs took pmv. I KILLED THEM ALL, and they were bred from my very best stock.I have emailed chevita to complain about this but they have not replied. BEWARE, DO NOT USE THIS PRODUCT, it has cost me dearly.

mamun2a Posted March 1, 2014 Author Report Posted March 1, 2014 This year, i lost almost 40% from my loft, and 15% is sick with neck shaking. this time it is not PMV i guess. but suffer a lot. I had never fall in this type hazard before. now i request you all to let me have a way to recover the twisting neck. How can i treat them with medicine?? or caring? thanksmamun2a, Dhaka, BD
philg50 Posted March 1, 2014 Report Posted March 1, 2014 Sorry but in my opinion if this symptoms are showing through all your birds ,dispose of them ,disinfect your loft and start again .
walterboswell59 Posted March 1, 2014 Report Posted March 1, 2014 PUT THEM IN THE BIN.im with you tooshy how can you rely on these birds even if they come through it looks like a case of shutting the stable door after the horse has bolted id dispose of the ones that have it and keep the ones that dont and start again this is the chance you take when you dont vaccinate but im sorry for the guy its sickening to see been there
walterboswell59 Posted March 1, 2014 Report Posted March 1, 2014 there is no cure for this m8 its a virus that has to run its course dont waste money trying to cure it just treat for secondary infections thats all you can do till it has run its course m8 then put a teaspoon of thin bleech into 5 liters of water leave for a half hour then put it in your drinkers it will kill most things your birds are getting and costs little do this for 14 days then once a week when they are back to normal
