Tony C Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 If you could change one rule in your Club, Fed, Region or Union what would it be? It could be that its outdated, restrictive or just plain unfair.

airdrie2 Posted October 29, 2010 Report Posted October 29, 2010 fed tickets to the first fifteen in each section you could be number 16 in your section you dont get a fed ticket and beating every other bird in the other sections . it should be a straight first 45 in fed its like the olympic 100 mts 1st, 2nd 3rd all americans win but they say that we must put an african nation in the medals so put the african who was 4th in third position . straight first 45

Guest Gareth Rankin Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 That the secretary's salary is decided by the members of the club rather than a small committee who can develop a close relationship with their fellow colleague (the secretary).

Another fancier has put it to me that perhaps a fairer way would be to have section positions pro rata to the entry at that race, i.e.Minimum of 15 section tickets each week with a guaranteed 1 fed position for every 100 pigeons sent, were as the way it is at present our section could have an entry of 3000 birds and only have the 15 allocated places available that you have talked about which is 1 prize for every 200 pigeons, this is a little unfair for the fanciers that set their goal at the shorter races with big birdages.
bewted Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 lot of good things said here, but, only one problem,,,,most fanciers are there own worst enemy !!!
ovy1255 Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 the politics of a major organisation can be a minefield with fellow deligates being the bombs,i am lucky to be in the NEHU as all persons are accepted as members with only sensable rules to stop membership not how good they fly.so what would the nehu be like if we stopped our best flyers -we would have our second rate flyers in top place so is this how we should look at any results put up by any organisation that allows clubs to vet its members or potential members by performance.so who topped the combine by default?ONLY THE MEMBERS CAN BRING ABOUT CHANGE BY VOICEING THEIR VIEWS AND PUTTING PROPOSALS FORWARD FOR CHANGE.
greenlands Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 That the secretary's salary is decided by the members of the club rather than a small committee who can develop a close relationship with their fellow colleague (the secretary). We've got a gooden Gareth,FREE.Lindsay.
greenlands Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 That the Federation flys off a breaking up point. That delegates for Fed.AGM's are give club votes on a sheet of paper signed by two or more club members ,to be handed to the Fed sec.prior to the meeting. Lindsay
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 We've got a gooden Gareth,FREE.Lindsay. Hold on to him Lindsay as he is worth his weight in gold , i know one who gets 18-19K for 7 races a season

ovy1255 Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 we have an excelent sec at our club and for all the hassel and work he does he gets the pricely sum of £5 per loft-but all the members help where they can. i think we have the best club in our fed ,great members.
alex wight Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 when it comes to what appears to be a personal issue, a reason must be given by each and every member that voted against. What i mean by that is.... if a fancier is being refused entry to a club, the members that voted against the fancier must individually explain why. This would split the sheep up and force the followers to explain themselves, which would probably change thier views. Once the explanations have been heard (by an independant panel), then a good honest descision can be made, in my humble opinion. The sport as we all know are at times run by kleeks and if your face doeasnt fit your beat.
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted October 30, 2010 Report Posted October 30, 2010 now thats daylight robbery that much money for so few races too hmmmmmmmm Yes it is, even got a 3% pay rise whislt prize money got slashed and birdage entry costs went up  crazy
