Been using Unikon for 5 years with no problems. If you get one with the pocket clock then there's no need to keep plugging/unplugging from the base unit so nothing to wear out/break :)

havent a clue about ets what does unikon have that the others dont or the other way around if u know what i mean

in otherwards to make it easier what can one do that the other one cant

same as me...but perhaps its because unikon seem to be market leader sales volume wise (just) from bricon, with tauris third ( just how it seems to me as an observer)...you don't hear much about the rest. tauris seems good value complete package with sms for £399 and bricons £260(?) for basic system is good cheap start. i'm tempted by the tauris but really i need continuous ...ie..be at the club with the clock for club race...whilst still being to time in from longer race....this means unikon is probably what i should go for. my club hasn't gone for it yet but we have good unikon dealer near...so thats probably the route eventually. its probably down to local service in the end as its more convenient....which dealer you have closest. i could be wrong about some of this and if i am i'll willing retract :)

a pal from johnstone bought one from d.bald but the printer wasn,t kept at club ,not secure , so it was plugged in and out quite a few times and the cable went ,so he tried to replace it and found it wasn,t available in computer shops ,something to do with usb i think the older model wasn,t usb or something ,so he went to a second hand shop and got one, mr bald rubber eared his calls about it honestly. The wee guy wasn,t impressed but  apart from that its been fine

anyone whos bought unikon did you go through an agent or direct to sales department as i have to say i am not impressed with their sales service  as i emailed them three times asking couple of simple questions and am still waiting a week later and by the way told them i was going to purchase the system anyway look farward to the replies

we use unikon ourselves down here and we have a local agent nearby ,so if anything does go wrong he`s at hand to sort it out straight away, another factor to consider how far is the agent from you when purchasing a system

been using unikon since 2006 and no probs to date, just a couple teething probs initially when setting up but this can happen with any system, more down to me than the system.

my partner (loft.1) flys in a different club and they use tauris, he is not impressed  by it but when it comes free of charge you cant grumble, having had experience with both systems i would chose Unikon any day regardless of cost... you only get what you pay for and Unikon is good value for money and there back up service is superb, Dougie Bald has always helped us at virtually the drop of a hat... evenings or weekends no probs!
