Wiley Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 regarding the new strain they say they bought the man out, but where is the national winner, all i've seen in there stock is a full brother?
REDCHEQHEN Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 Red cheq cock Louella van Lint - caught my eye - interesting pedigree - no reduns in it....!
JohnQuinn Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 Red cheq cock Louella van Lint - caught my eye - interesting pedigree - no reduns in it....! Just like the Janssen birds. They never had a Red in their loft but there are plenty on sale!!
Wiley Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 Just like the Janssen birds. They never had a Red in their loft but there are plenty on sale!! are you sure john? What about the Vos! Even in the Janssen book they state in an interview "yes we know. And we have had the most wonderful red pigeons and slaties. But now we breed only few of them. And our reason for breeding blue pigeons and chequers is very simple. They just turned out to be better!" We have therefore, for instance continued with the Bang van 51 line. The latter and many other top pigeons that we have bred are direct or indirect descendants from red pigeons." Later on when questioned when they bred the last good red or mealy they state "in 1960. But later on other fliers have been very successful when breeding with red pigeons which they had bought here" Another quote has to be because ive seen many for sale "Sometimes they even have the nerve to say pigeons which are almost completely white or black are pure Janssens!" Maybe you could also be forgetting the legendary "Wondervoske Van 1945"

Wiley Posted October 26, 2010 Report Posted October 26, 2010 One of Louellas new strain Jules Severi Sapper wheres the national winner? Question i would be asking if i was purchasing them, as id be wanting direct. The closest they got is a full brother to the national winner. Take for example, Lionel Messi, he had two brothers both couldnt kick a ball straight, all three of them from the same parent, however not the same abillity.

Wiley Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 Same old conundrum, Messi's brothers could breed the stars and Lionel not i've heard of footballers sons, but NEVER footballers nephews

When you look closer at the pedigrees of the new strain there aint much in the way of winners mentioned, they keep on about them being a 1st national bourges strain and if you look in the pedigrees the father of the national winner is a 97 pigeon. Wheres all the other performances or is that one national win just it. Also they have had them a few years now, as i said before they are breeding out of them first to build up the numbers they have then we get the youngsters out of the birds they have bred. just look how far you have to go back to find an actual racer. as other have said you want them out of the national winner not out of brothers or sisters to the national winner. Go through the pedigrees of other strains on there and nearly all the parents are ' bred especially for stock by louella' nothing are from the winners themselves, you have to get birds from racers not birds that have never been on the road. Jas.
Craig05 Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 i've heard of footballers sons, but NEVER footballers nephews Shaun Pollock, brilliant South Africa fast bowler was Graham Pollocks nephew. one of the best cricket players ever to come out of South Africa. same goes for a few of the springbok rugby players matey

Jas.I agree its best if you can get them as close to the winners as possible.Theres nothing difficult what louella are doing EG buying a sh** load of blacks and Breeding another two or three sh** loads of blacks then punting them.I dare say they will be winners come from some of them but the vast majority IMO will be junk.

Guest tom123 Posted October 27, 2010 Report Posted October 27, 2010 was up at louella on sun when they launched the new blacks stain ,got to be honest not for me but they were going like hell \a lot of interest in them and plenty sold but what a difference from the last time i was here back in 1992 when the big breeding cenre was open ,but couldnt fault the birds on offer and added to that all pens were open and you were invited to handle any pigeon you wished to from £37 to £750
