lanarkshire lad Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 I agree ypres should be dropped its a poor substitute for a 500+mile channel race.Clermont should be the race for duplication.lets keep it simple back to basics.
Guest JonesyBhoy Posted October 17, 2010 Report Posted October 17, 2010 whats up with Sartilly, Rennes, Nantes, Sartilly..???? worked for years and years.. why was it changed..??
Guest Gareth Rankin Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 food for thought here, imagine the Gold cup was the duplication race. Think of the birdage the main event would have I think it would have to be brought back 25-30 miles and maybe flown on first week in July. Programme, Ypres 4th June, Eastbourne 18th June, Gold Cup 1st July( duplication race ), 9th July Tours This means that your Ypres doos could get doubled back into either Gold Cup or longest race. The entries would be fantastic, perhaps 3to4000 for the gold cup with a significant increase for the longest race.

Guest bigda Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 the most annoying, thing about the Nat result, was watching the daftys that where not in the national, with there hands up voting to go with them, the lanarkshire better start standing on its own 2 feet, and the secretary at the next agm will not be getting away with the lanarkshire loosing money £3000 prize moneys that stops hope he adopts the idea that if the races are to be duplicated then we will demand that the bird-age be £3.50-£5 to the lanarkshire. per bird min and then what ever the Nat charge will be up to them the show must go on
hotrod Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 Dont think anyone would miss the chance of winning top prize money in Gold cup for the sake of a tenner but if they took the chance, how foolish would they look if they got a good yin.couldnt agree more del BUT its the other one thats the prob, the gold cup winner ? but a bird (not an snfc bird) is beating it in the race what value would u put on the g/c winner and what value on the real winner ? worrying imo. sorry, great for birdage but ?

Delboy Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 This would be the first step to the Gold Cup being flown from Eastbourne or somewhere inland. I dont think that would ever happen but I know where you are coming from. The Snfc stands for distance racing and fundamentally, that will never change
bigjamie Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 see they have hexham back in the young bird races some have short memories of that race point it was changed because of some disasters from there was it not is that going to be a greeting match if the same all happens again blaming controlers etc etc

Guest Gareth Rankin Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 cant remember a bad race from hexham when was it jamieI'm almost sure that there was a bad Hexham around 2005/6, we never went back the following year and it was only when in 2008 with the bad weather at a race further south {ripon} that the controller used the longest distance site available to the fed, since then when racing from Hexham the fed has had fair to good racing. Pshave you booked your ticket for Friday??
bigjamie Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 frank i won west section and second fed that race people were sruggling to get a timer its not been a good race point a couple of times for members thats why they changed the race point i think it was 2003 and 2005 frank they raced from there
duncandoo Posted October 18, 2010 Report Posted October 18, 2010 seems to me that they dont have the race point for old birds, but are sending young birds to it,seems strange to me that they cant go to the same racepoints as the old birds
