Hi ther guys was just wondering if anyone on the site knew anything about a good bike im going to buy a bike to cycle to work keep fit all that got about 900 to spend any reply would be greatly appreciated

900 quid for a bike ye must be loaded

Far from it Frank its through my work mate they buy you a bike and you pay it back paying extra tax to get people to cycle to work. works out you only pay 60 percent back over a year so suits me lol i only work in uddingston now lol

sure do mate its six mile if a drive it and i get stuck in the traffic on the main street so it makes sense so dont really need the car for it now and my mrs was given a big transit van for her job and they put me on the insurance so i have a big van for training the doos now happy days

In a previous life I sold / maintained bikes. If it's just for work, and a bit of keep fit, don't even think of spending that sort of money. When you're looking at different 'types' of bike, have a look at what they call 'hybrids'. I think that's a good bet for you. Should be well covered at £200 - £300, anything more and it's a mixture of sales talk and the bike is too high spec. for your needs.

DON'T GET ONE OF THEM THAT HAD 16 GEARS, CAUSE NOTHING BUT TROUBLE 6 GEARS MAX

ALSO BIKES ARE PRICED BY WEIGHT REALY THE LIGHTER THE BIKE THE DEARER THEY ARE GENERALY BUT YOU DO WANT ONE LIGHT TO MOVE ABOUT WITH SHOULD YOU HAVE TO CARRY IT LOL

i borght a carrera vengance limited edition from halfords cost me £500 and it is cheap tap if i was you i would stay clear of them

 

my mate has just bortght a scott voltage £1700 and its a cracking bike that is going to be my next investment
