whats the best day to use it dring racing

A lot of fanciers give brewers yeast powder on return from a race because it is high in digestable protein, its usually sprinkled on a light feed ( depurative, gerry plus etc.) which has been covered in oil or lemom juice etc.

I give it to my widowers on the evening of their return from a race, sprinkle on the depurative and moistened with lemon juice. I have never given it to my youngsters, however, you have got me thinking nowhttp://forum.pigeonbasics.org/public/style_emoticons/default/unsure.gif

as most say a small amount of lemon juice live yoghurt on return from races , i used to use cod liver oil but needs refrigerating once opened and goes off ( rancid )quickly i prefer Groundnut oil in small amounts :) brewers yeast can be bought dry or in liquid forms it is a spent yeast so is inactive but full of vitamins and amino acids :)

myself i squeeze about 2 fresh lemons, and add as much brewers yeast till the consistancy of how mum makes gravey, pour it all over the corn and use my hands to mix it completely in to the grain, then ontop of the boiler to dry out, it would turn into a rock solid form, which you then brake up and feed to the birds

Just a word of warning on using brewer's yeast.

You must be sure that your birds are not suffering from a yeast infection, or yeast overgrowth (which is apparently a common side-effect of using antibiotics - these kill bacteria that keep yeasts in check.) Giving brewers yeast to birds that have yeast infection will make that infection worse.

Brewers yeast with lemon juice will kep the candida (yeast infection) down.
