OLDYELLOW Posted July 2, 2010 Report Posted July 2, 2010 A number of pigeons is stolen in Barcelona...This morning pigeons are stolen on the liberation place of Barcelona. On the liberation place of Barcelona a total number of 19 pigeons is stolen, probably around 3h45 am this morning. Amongst them 9 belgian pigeons from the fondclub of Lokeren (3) and the fondclub of Beerse (6). Surely tampered crates should all be re rubbered as race security been breached
just ask me Posted July 2, 2010 Report Posted July 2, 2010 http://www.pipa.be/en/newsandarticles/news/number-pigeons-stolen-barcelona some of the birds taken i think were from the uk
Guest strapper Posted July 2, 2010 Report Posted July 2, 2010 the baskets were on the ground...birds taken were from five! different baskets..in my opinion...they knew what they were looking for.

Guest THE DOO BOY Posted July 2, 2010 Report Posted July 2, 2010 were the baskets taken off the transporter if so why?
Fair Play Posted July 2, 2010 Report Posted July 2, 2010 seems 10 birds were removed from BICC baskets - where was the security?
Guest IB Posted July 2, 2010 Report Posted July 2, 2010 I'm surprised they know how many birds have been removed from each basket and what club they belong to? Do the convoyers carry paperwork that goes into such detail?
just ask me Posted July 2, 2010 Report Posted July 2, 2010 they seem to know very quick ib what birds were missing im not sure how they knew to be honest it shows they were doing things right apart from the birds going missing birds were on the truck when it happened

I think the motive behind this might not be pigeon people 'stealing for breeding' as some maybe thought. I recall several years ago posts on a transporter being 'raided' for pigeons for the table. But a video of dead birds sounds like to me they've been stolen to ransome (spelling) them, they want money for their safe return?
Guest Greig the doo Drysdale Posted July 2, 2010 Report Posted July 2, 2010 I'm surprised they know how many birds have been removed from each basket and what club they belong to? Do the convoyers carry paperwork that goes into such detail? It's not rocket science the baskets hold 20 odd doo's and the club name will bo on the basket probably If its no then they must have checked all the birds with paper work at racepoint or home end to see which club Canny see how it will be held for ransome tho jmo

Guest bigda Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 I'm sure some fancier from Edinburgh has sent one eyed jacks
Guest IB Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 I mark the BICC birds and we have to send a crate sheet across with our driver that shows the ring nos of every bird in that crate which I beleive is done by all the organisations taking part so would be very easy to know what birds were missing That explains how they know which birds are in each crate. But how do they know the fancier's name and club? Does the crate sheet contain that info too?
sammy Posted July 3, 2010 Report Posted July 3, 2010 ITE BE A VERY SILLY QUESTION BUT DOES ANYONE FROM SCOTLAND SEND TO BARCELONA they send them to saintes with the midl;ands national club and into to scotland they fly over 700 miles some feat and great pigeons that do it
