barlbylofts Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 is pigeons with you guys a family hobby or just for you, in my house we all love the birds me my wife and three kids. we all take part in everything to do with the sport. on race day we have a family barbie while waiting for the birds to arive home and we all have the most pleasure in watching our birds arive on the loft we make it a great day for all. do any one else do a simler thing or are we just a mad family lol. mark barlbylofts

We have a understanding here, The pigeons can go anytime.... me with them! lol

Dave A Posted April 13, 2007 Report Posted April 13, 2007 in my house i was the only 1 but the wife is supportive and the kids love them but they are a bit young to clean out yet aged 7,3+1 and now my dad has joined me as a partner cant ask for anymore tho as the wife sits through my pigeon dvd's (says it helps her sleep) and listens to all i say about them (but can tell she is not listening) but does not moan, and as i say at least its pigeons im interested in and not ther other sort of birds, loil

Training for 1st time today: guy at my local railway station in conversation remarked years ago lots of pigeon people, now not so many; guy from Fife at my destination station (after watching birds get away) same remarks: in Fife pigeons were father / son / uncle sort of thing - and now not so many. Both guys agreed very hard to get young folk interested nowadays. No button there to switch pigeons off.
