Tony C Posted April 20, 2007 Report Posted April 20, 2007 My club used to put up a £10 special for the best 'bad trap' story and this was awarded to someone at the end of the year. One year it was won by someone saying that a pair of Mallards decided to build a nest on top of his shed, said everytime a pigeon tried to drop a Mallard would chase after it. Photographic evidence of the Mallards in question was produced to support his claim, the panel decided he would win the £10 that year even though the Mallards in the photo were most definitely plastic.

Guest Posted April 21, 2007 Report Posted April 21, 2007 Heard a good one last night from a guy who just heard I topped the fed last week. "Christ he said that pigeon of mine was better than I thought" why said his mate. "well the first two came but they are my wild ones so they wouldn't trap, then the third came and stayed out because of my other two so I only clocked the 4th. If I could have clocked the first two I would have had the first two in the fed". He was near last in the club last week and never won a card before so it gave us all a good laugh. One of my mates had a good excuse a couple of years back that he still hears about most weeks, and that was that his bird wouldn't trap because there was a spiders web over the anti bolts!!!!!! lol ;D ;D ;D
jimmy white Posted April 21, 2007 Author Report Posted April 21, 2007 ;D ;D a freind of mine , couldnt get his bird in [ again would have topped the fed ;D ;D ;D ill get killed for this ;D ;D ;D] ,,,, a cow,, from the feild behind his back garden ,poked its head through the wire fence to eat the fresher grass?in his garden ;D , and kept lifting its head , making the wire go squeak, squeak, squeak, thus , frightening the bird ;D ;D ;D
Roland Posted April 21, 2007 Report Posted April 21, 2007 A fancier for two weeks was swearing that his pied cock bird wouldn't trap, and would have won no only club, but Fed too. Third week he was ranting and rving the exact same lines, adding that if it didnae trap the next week he'd shot the flipping thing .... Next week it was timed in, 2nd, club and second Fed! But was reported by the loft mate two doors up, that he had indeed shot it after it had hung about for nigh ten minutes! As it didnae trap it was disqualfied! But it was a great pigeon. Many wanted him barred as I recall, but that never happened.
jimmy white Posted April 21, 2007 Author Report Posted April 21, 2007 rushed forward to loft to time bird in , in my panic, forgot about washing line dangling ,,,,,, catapulted me back where i started ;D ;D

Guest jason Posted April 22, 2007 Report Posted April 22, 2007 a lad in our club, when asked why he didn't win the race, he replied ........cause me birds are crap! another lad in our club racing yesterday, missed out on winning because he was at the toilet!, he saw the birds through the window (his remark last night, I wasn't expecting them so soon so I thought i had time for a dump) lol. jason
