swilcox Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 Invincible Spirit was one of the very very best!
Guest Paulo Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 ch = champion I presume Louella loves bragging not denying Invincable spirit was a champ that post came across wrong Just saying they do brag a lot
Roland Posted July 25, 2007 Report Posted July 25, 2007 not denying Invincable spirit was a champ that post came across wrong Just saying they do brag a lot Yep and have a hell of a lot to brag about too! And their sucess in many other walks of life is also formidable. Truly a unique and very resauceful sucessful family for nigh 70 - 80 years and from a twopennyhalfnie sut up.

Fair play to the Massarella family they have helped a lot of ordinary down to earth fanciers that otherwise could'nt afford such stock or race birds.

Very Very true .... and still do, as the International bred winner can vouch for recently ....!

How many races have Louella actually completed in themselves not other people racing their pigeons and won? They aren't a racing stud at the minute are they. Not knocking just would be interested to find out. A lot of top fanciers who actually race pigeons and sell a few to pay for their corn and aren't running a commerical operation can match louellas prices and you get birds that are bred off birds that are being raced. Bet you Louella charge top dollar for their real bred off the champs birds. The 120 quid for 6's will be bred off birds he has bred off the champions that have never been raced in their lives. It doesn't matter how good the champion is it will breed birds that are crap and if you are putting untried yongsters to one side to bred off for stock theres a good chance that they will be crap and breed crap. Louella forfill a role in the pigeon market but I for one would rather buy birds off people that are actually racing. I also don't like the look of some of their pigeons. Look at their busschaerts they are flogging via auction at the minute they have nowt about them. http://www.louella.co.uk/salelist.php Found this guys website the other day dunno if he races or not but just look at the quality of these buscchaerts and his Staff Van Reets and his prices are about on a par with Louella think I have seen his YB's on sale in the homing world before for 25 quid each. Thats cheap enough to buy to race http://www.logiclofts.co.uk/Busschart.html I've got a busschaert young un supposely bred off the best of corbett busschaerts etc off Louella and its type is rubbish exactly like those on the website last in every training chuck. SteveBelbin off heres bred me young birds off his corbett busschaerts from Ray Forbes lines totally different birds bigger frame look the part and act the part. Bred Young un's myself off two yearlings he gave me last year and they are on fire first back in every training toss. So dunno what Louellas been doing with their busschaets but they certainly don't look the part. Maybe other people have them and do well with them but to me I don't like them. To me its as if what makes them Busschaerts has been bred out of them they just don't look like proper quality busschaert young birds off proper fanciers who have culled the rubbish and refined the strain should look like. In fairness I have some Adrie Van Rhies that have been given to me think they are louellas orginally and they are nice birds but maybe they haveb't had time to mess the strain up they brought in yet. As an experiment I might buy a kit of 6 corbett busschaets from louella next year and race them against my team of proper busschaerts and see how they do. If they are out like the one I've got at the minute I think they will struggle for the simple reason the others are:- Harder Better Stronger Faster Bigger
Guest Paulo Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 typical Louella corbett bussie Street pigeon city
mac1 Posted July 26, 2007 Author Report Posted July 26, 2007 i get louellas £155 for 10 every year as a birthday prezzie, last years were my best birds this year, this years are much better looking than last year ;D
Roland Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 Louis swept all before him big time in the Leicester Fed. Roumer has it he was only allowed to clock 2 ... but I don't believe that. But am inclined to believe he did only clock the first two. Best since Logan in that area. Great friendly rival of Frankie Geaorge who was also a trail blazer.
mark Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 roland they might have some good birds but when it comes to the roland janssens its john mellor who had them long before louella no matter how many pages they print in the homing world.
mac1 Posted July 26, 2007 Author Report Posted July 26, 2007 typical Louella corbett bussie Street pigeon city would you not have them in your yb team
harky Posted July 26, 2007 Report Posted July 26, 2007 typical Louella corbett bussie Street pigeon city have baught loella pigeons for last 5or 6 years and have won with them every year so i think its money well spent as they pay for them selves and hAVE never looked back again is every one to their own paulo

I might even change my mind if these van de rhies win for me.

So! eh? And many other strains have the same story. But when it came to the BIG cash, and buying lock stock and nigh barrel, hen Louella were the only ones capable - or better still DID Rival the Japnese, Twiwan. China etc.
schouwman71 Posted July 27, 2007 Report Posted July 27, 2007 the old busschearts were quit ugly ,but still dominated races,i ve seen louellas web site and feel the busscheart youngsters on there are very true to type, what you get from alot of fanciers are the birds they have bred for themselves on what they like to look at,louella dont do that they just breed the strain for you,its then upto you to keep the good and get rid of the crap, but personally if i was going to get the busschearts i would only go to louella, look at some peds of the best busscheart flyers there is,they NEARL all go back to the originals from louella.Les
