frank-123 Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 frome is the west of england maybe we would have a better chance going the west coast route but then again south west wind are the norm in our country the east has a better chance sure you would agree taylorsloft
jimmy white Posted January 11, 2008 Report Posted January 11, 2008 There used to be 4 + the fed race and no silly wee inland so called nationals. They were the days! and with massive birdages , we in fact used to have 6 over 500 mile races [the east of scot continental club ] wonder why the birdages are so low now?? weve had more away in the club, 36 members [42 at one time] sent 710 birds in gilmeron club at one time,,,,[now theres about 10 members ,refusing an 11 year old boy , who wanted to fly them at his grandads ] than what goes to some nationals now ,,,,,no wonder clubs go downhill >
Chris Little Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 The SNFC was once regarded as the best long distance club in the UK, now it seems to cater for sprinters as well. Inland races are fine, having won one ourselves but the adrenalin kicks in when we race over the channel, can you imagine the uproar from our forefathers decades ago if it was suggested to them there was going to be inland nationals in their time.
andy Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 Leave the inland races to the feds to sort out betweem themselves. Scottish National Racing should be from France. :X :X :X
Taylorsloft Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 yes i agree all s n f c racing should be across the chanel .but they are trying to keep everyone happy.i think they have forgoten the meaning of distance.IE 500 + miles
ALF Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 yes i agree all s n f c racing should be across the chanel .but they are trying to keep everyone happy.i think they have forgoten the meaning of distance.IE 500 + miles i think it's all down to making money thats why they have the 2 inland races
rembrant2coo Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 Leave the inland races to the feds to sort out betweem themselves. Scottish National Racing should be from France. :X :X :X i agree entirely whether it be with any the national clubs
Guest Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 I think someone gets a bird that wins in their club once or twice, then decides to have a go at the channel never sees what they consider agood pigeon again.thats it for the channel racing never again. But inland racing chances of losing that good pigeon are not as high.
Guest Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 they had two inland nationals because thats what the members passed at the agm
sammy Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 they had two inland nationals because thats what the members passed at the agm got to agree with you lad agm is the place for it and members want inland racing then they get it
frank-123 Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 alf your right it is down to money the snfc need the inland nationals to pay for the channel race's nothing wrong in this but with the way feds are going how long till the snfc start coming further inland nothing against the snfc only looking after themselves just reckon the feds need to wake up lanarkshire fed would they drop the french race and have another 300-350 mile race cheaper to transport and with the savings put into the prize fund reckon they would get more birds going to two inland races doing it this way maybe even offer the transporter to other feds lanarkshire would only be looking after themselves

me Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 snfc... the feds paid cost price, our fed was 50p a bird, better that than a £1 as b4 You have just worked it out Geordie although I am not sure you realise it? "THE FEDS PAID COST --" in effect that is exactly what they do, as some one has already said, sooner or later the feds will have to look after themselves. Plus you have to remember that the club, all be it on a minority vote decided to deprive themselves of some 200 plus members not that long ago. So they have to make up the difference some how! Whos daft?

Guest IB Posted January 13, 2008 Report Posted January 13, 2008 I see there's letters in for another two races? Ypres, Belgium, and a UK Combined National (Belgium or Germany, not sure which, with £25,000 sponsorship already guaranteed).
