hepste Posted February 15, 2008 Report Posted February 15, 2008 Hi to all. Does anyone have info on Luc va Hoecke pigeons, ie the man, the birds, and what is a reasonable price to pay for direct youngsters.
mosslands1 Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 a friend of mine races them give me a call 01948 880561 peter
Jeremy Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 Went to Luc va Hoecke lofts last November i was very impressed by him and his birds. Brought a pair off his best distance racers. Your looking at around 300 euros each but also he does have ones cheaper..
ribble Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 Wasn't the one off quinlan in the 2006 one loft race via luc's stock. Could you tell us a bit about that bird? I'm sure you must remeber it, could you tell how good it would become? what was it like around the loft's? Did it have any bairng on you bringing luc's birds in?
hepste Posted February 16, 2008 Author Report Posted February 16, 2008 I acquired some of his birds at a sale. Reasonably impressed so thought I'd like to give some direct younbirds a go dependant on price.

Yes Frank quinlans bird won the ace bird 2006 and it was off direct luc`s stock that Frank brought in. I like the way Luc manages his team hard flyer so he selects hard so i thought a would try a pair from the best he had on the distance in the internationals. Franks birds did have a bearing on this but time will tell with Mr basket...The Ace bird frank brought back for stock...
schouwman71 Posted February 16, 2008 Report Posted February 16, 2008 a friends got some directs,i put a direct one on here a few months ago,she also had already bred winners for him aswell,i saw the pedigree and found gaby vandenabeele bloodlines in it. Les
hepste Posted February 18, 2008 Author Report Posted February 18, 2008 I tell you what, some of you boys know your pigeons. Yes, Quinlan's bird did get RPRA Ace bird 2006. He bought it back for £800. Interestingly the nest mate to this pigeon achieved 22nd in the Europa Classic final race. Many thanks to everyone for their input.
swilcox Posted February 18, 2008 Report Posted February 18, 2008 The best Van Hoecke pigeons i know belong to Ron Davis of Bristol, 1st Open NFC Saintes, 1st Open BBC, 100s of 1st Feds and clubs etc. Very Very Good fancier.

Guest Paulo Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 YOU CAN KEEP THE FANCIER, ILL HAVE THE OLD GUY WHO LOOKS AFTER THEM ANY TIME,10 MINS WITH HIM IS WORTH MORE THAN AN HOUR WITH LUC ;) I got that impression as well Luc doesn't seem very hands on wonder if he knows what a scraper does. Nice shortbread and beer through eh
naedoos Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 Hi guys, sorry I have to disagree with you on this one. A few of us turned up unannounced for a recent visit and he answered the door with a scraper in hand. ;D ;D ;D There's no doubting the old guy's invaluable experience, after all that's the type of guy we all learn from and probably why Luc has him as loft manager. But you certainly can't knock the guy by saying he's not hands on.
jimmy white Posted February 22, 2008 Report Posted February 22, 2008 http://www.pipa.be/artikels/car/Vanhoecke.htm well done craig for the info

chichichi Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 oldman went to lucs in late 2005,, and bought 2 birds,, he paid 60 euros each,, the year after they went throught he roof.. they are now about £150 each .. we won't pay that money ,,but were very lucky to get them.. they wern't bred from in 2006 as they were late 2005 and last year we had no room in the stock so they went for widowhood cocks to some racing hens,, this year they will be breeding for the first time,, big hopes for them,, this one is mated to vandenabeele hen the other is mated to a janseen hen.. we bought them as a pair but they turned out to be 2 cock birds,, but we not complaining,, goodluck all ant

chichichi Posted February 23, 2008 Report Posted February 23, 2008 like 2 peas in a pod,,, have to look at the rings to see what's what.. also got 2 blue maris cocks in there also,, don't know what they are until they go to their boxes.. lol.. luc was a very nice chap and the oldman said he would recommend them to any one,, but the prices have shot up in 3 years.. we paid £40 each for latebreds and other nearby lofts paid £100 each in 2006 for the same.. so goodluck to him,, HAVE A GREAT 2008 ANT
