I would be very suprised to see a pigeon fancier appointed to the job i think it will be someone not associated with the sport again.

As long as it is somebody who tries his best to help the sport

Speaking as someone who is self employed running a livery yard I can tell you that a very large part of my job is pandering to rich and often neurotic and sometimes unreasonable horse owners. My patience and tolerance is frequently tested to the limit believe me! and much of my job is public relations, keeping owners happy no matter what I may actually think or feel like saying!.

Mr Swilcox was very rude to me in a pm quite some time ago,his language was most offensive, especially unacceptable to a woman as I don't swear!.All I had done was voice my opinion on a thread regarding the price of birds in general.Had I been in his shoes I would not have been rude, everyone including me is a potential customer and those that go against you need converting to being with you from a business point of view!,he should have tried to turn it around not upset me!.Doesn't matter how much I may detest someone they are a potential customer, its called PR skills :)

I agree Chrissy about the personal skills i have had no dealings with Stuart other than him being helpful when i posted a Moleveld pigeon for sale.

I do feel though that no matter how far someone pushes you it is vital you keep composed and just humour them whether you like or not. I deal with many people at work i do not like including suppliers, staff, customers and other stake holders but i always stay polite and friendly to attempt to acheive my aims.

What i say about them when i get home or am talking to the owner is a different thing though thats where i get what i want to off my chest

I could go on but i properly think pigeon racing might not be ready for me.

Stuart Wilcox

Then why apply for the job?

How would you deal with people like me?

If it wasn't for the money a lot of us would not doing the job we do at the end of the day "money talks." The RPRA job will be well paid so it may well be "Jobs for the boys" can't have someone in the job that knows what they are talking about after all as Chrissy says it all about PR and a admin man instead of a pigeon man would seem to be the order of the day ::) ::) ::)

Maybe I am a sceptic

you never know till you give it a go

i also have met you twice and found you to be most helpful and friendly

Well !!!!!  ;D ;D ;D I don't know what Stuart's answer to your query ?????? is etc. But I would use my people skills to the utmost here  ;D ;D ;D & just shoot you  ::) ::) ::) right between the eyes. "Problem solved"  :) :) :), & then move on to the next issue  8) 8) 8) at hand. Which may require my attention.

Enjoy.

Perhaps the RPRA when it comes to the PR side should look at employing somebody to do that job alone its something it seems to have been lacking for many years

So, do you think he does not have the PR skills needed to do the job as well Rose?

My own thoughts would be appoint from within the Sport, the most suitable candidate, with a steering committee,of say six members again only from within the sport, these then with regional officers would run R.P.R.A,and my own first nomination would be Mr Denis Wall for any of these seven seats, with S.Wilcox showing with his input,he would certainly be on the right wavelength for another seat. Sadly dont think this will ever happen,as latent snobbery and image projection seems more important than practicality.

Personally I think that that has good merits.

Would agree regarding a good P.R.Firm,but still of the opinion we should clean up from within, with some of the current topical issues/antis/pros, all the Spin Doctoring in the World could not present a good image.

Im not really in a position to change my career path at present but it was a serious question with regards to selecting a pigeon fancier who could re-model the sport.

Dovescot, id bend down and give you a big kiss on the forehead :K)

From the past expierences, it is / has been obvious that 'Within the Sport' there is / was too much vested interests. Likewise canoddling to please the 'Names' and the plebes / Grass rootes totally ignored ... just fodder really I guess.

So, though this will always be  in contention, at least an outsider MIGHT just look at the overall picture, and strive to do what is best for the sport as a whole. Even then of course he will have his work cut out.
