GUTTY HEN Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 It gives me great pleasure in telling you the members that at the shu council meeting on sunday the 2nd march,Council were very supportive of the ypres memorial race being flown this year and after a letter was read out from the snfc secretary Andy Garven looking for support from the shu on this race. The council gave its backing and gave a donation of £1,000.00 as part of both the council and the snfc committee i am thrilled with this outcome and would like to thank all in council who voted for this very kind gesture.I am sure this was the right thing for the council to approve and it only leaves me to say on behalf of the snfc committee thank you.I hope that we can go on from this and obtain another 2/3 large donations for this cause this in turn would then cover the costs for the expense which we feel will take to run this race.If you can help in any way please contact the snfc secretary on 01236830253 or myself on 01324861009.

Guest IB Posted March 3, 2008 Report Posted March 3, 2008 Would 450 miles into Central Scotland be a reasonable guess. A race fit for good yearlings?

frank-123 Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 guess it depends where they cross jimmy but Calais to Dover is north west of the race point is that not 20 odd miles wide at that point but it is the shortest crossing from france to the uk
