frank-123 Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 saw the peregrine take a couple of swoops at my hens this morning and here is me out the back clapping and shouting every time it got near the batch i reckon this bird is either young or a captive bred bird because it could not catch any of my hens but it sure scared the sh*t out of them they landed in trees under my wife's car two birds never even stopped and flew straight into the trap i know the bird was doing the rounds up at alfs loft i reckon its the same bird anybody else in lanarkshire seen this bird? how can i let ybs out if that thing strikes my ybs will be gone for sure
seapigeon360 Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 There are three peregrines sitting at the towers in motherwell near the calder park and i heard that people from motherwell are watching them every day and gathering the rings.
ALF Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 There's a pair at the Wyler tower in Hamilton town centre aswell : : :
Bilco Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 If you see anyone gathering rings, they are stealing them since the ring remains the property of the bird's owner. Take the car number (you may see it parked elsewhere sometime, outside a house for instance) and you will know where to find the thief. Publish those details, better we all know than not.
REDCHEQHEN Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 but it sure scared the sh*t out of them they landed in trees under my wife's car your wife parks in some strange places doesn't she? :o
seapigeon360 Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 well i think they r taking them to the shu to be reported to the owner i dont think they r steeling the ring just letting people know whats happen to there birds
seapigeon360 Posted March 13, 2008 Report Posted March 13, 2008 would you no lift the rings if you came across them.

frank-123 Posted March 15, 2008 Author Report Posted March 15, 2008 heard it was back into the birds up the bing on friday i let my birds out and try and get them in as quick as possible knowing it could strike at any min it seems to practice diving the birds then pulling off after it causes mayhem good to see you on basics dava sorry you lost birds imagine what it must be like when it heads straight into a very large batch and we wonder why there is big gaps between the winners and the losers dont think there is not a loft in blantyre/burnbank hamilton area that has not had a vist from percy we should be getting together to try and sort this problem before the ybs are up and about
