Guest paulrstokes Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 Hi Guys Since the introduction of ETS is it correct that a member can put 2 rubbers into one thimble? Someone did it yesterday at our club, and to say it started a heated debate is an understatement. Many Thanks
pjc Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 it depends where you are Paul, there seems to be confusion between unions. Phil
pjc Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 Best check the RPRA rule book on there site but I believe yo can put as many as you like in a thimble now. Phil
Guest paulrstokes Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 Just looked it says if more than one in a thimble then the thimble is disqualified
Guest Vic Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 I brought this up on a previous posting, asking Why? these guys with ets can have a timing advantage over the printer clocks. They can time pigeons on the same second , yet printers can't. SOMEBODY SORT IT SOMEWHERE, PLEASE! How I ask you, can we have such conflicting timing in procedures ?
THE FIFER Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 buy a ets clock :P :P :P yes the best thing that's happened to pigeon racing for a long time, just try it out and you will realise what ur missing,
madmaxlofts Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 rpra rules state that only 1 rubber to be inserted in 1 thimble i think it stinks but it was proposed and rejected that more than 1 was allowed on the rpra agm
Guest Vic Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 Clock? System you mean! The RPRA HAD to accept the SYSTEM to fall in line with their continental counterparts. One "Rip Off" from the beginning. It hasn't passed unnoticed that most of you Scottish lads, got it for free gratis, on which I applaud you. But for somebody to tell me to discard true timing in of pigeons, , AND telling me to join the rip off system leaves a sour taste in my mouth.
Guest strapper Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 2 in the thimble excepted in the welsh north road fed...cant see the problem..its ur fault if u stop to put in two and lose time,so shouldnt be an issue with unions..but each to their own i spose.

Well I dont think it was a rip off and I paid for my system out of my own pocket. Got to agree with Fifer once you have it you would never go back. The thrill is seeing the bird arrive and no stress about getting the rubber off and in the clock
Fair Play Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 I wonder how many with ETS sit out in incliment weather in the allotments to clock their birds most are probably out shopping with the wife. I suppose it's called compromise
Tony C Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 I’d rather sit through a tornado on a mountain top than go shopping with the wife.
ALF Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 I wonder how many with ETS sit out in incliment weather in the allotments to clock their birds most are probably out shopping with the wife. I suppose it's called compromise i've had ETS since the beginning of last season and have only missed the doos coming home once and that was only because i had to work so you cant go saying that because people have ETS they are'nt there as there are 6 of us on our allotment compound that all have ETS and have hardly missed a race since we got the systems!
ALF Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 I’d rather sit through a tornado on a mountain top than go shopping with the wife. SNAP!!!
Fair Play Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 Tongue in cheek Alf - Bbbbiiiiiitttttttteeeeeeeee
Fair Play Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 You cannot leave him Rose if you don't have the pin No.
Tony C Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 I’d rather sit through a tornado on a mountain top than go shopping with the wife. Cant think of any wife in there right mind that would want take their husband shopping with them only one thing they need to take with them is your money you can stay at home ;D ;D ;D I'll rephrase that, I’d rather sit on my wallet through a tornado on a mountain top than go shopping with the wife.
Fair Play Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 Vic -- ETS can have birds entering 4 to 6 different access points but only need one clock (six different entry points) you are only allowed ONE clock doesn't matter how many access points you have - but then rules are rules and we abide by them after all it's a democracy and it was voted in .
pjc Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 my wife has to remind me what my pin number is! :B

sapper756 Posted June 15, 2008 Report Posted June 15, 2008 I have used ETS for 2 seasons now, and have always been present on race days, so you are wrong ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
