the federations lower their prices that they raised because of fuel increases?..you bet they wont!

i believe if a federation like my own raises its weekly charges to cover the rises in fuel costs, then they should do the opposite when they start to lower the prices in fuel.

but knowing how federations act they will blame some other reason for not lowering them.

our federation charges us the same wether we race that week or not., this i believe will spell the end of some fanciers

with spiralling corn costs as well.

so to corn costs...will these farmers in turn lower their corn costs now fuel is coming down...which they partly blamed for rising corn costs be lowered? nah they will continue like the feds, they are making good money so why should they worry bout us the fancier.....

wheat prices ballooned to over £140 a tonne now its low as around £70-£80..have we seen any corn merchants lower their prices?...no!.

so the price in fuel and wheat has come down , what excuses will they have for keeping prices high?

so we are continually being over charged for everything, and it dont stop there... the price of the bhw(which i believe is good value) maybe rings nexts, and now with a big part of the uk using ets, what prices will rubbers be for us that still use the conventional clocks...stb,s and t3,s?

are stb,s or t3,s coming down in price?

ok thats enough for my friday moan . sorry to bore you with it.lol..paul.

its pretty much the same with supermarkets it werent long a go you could get a unbranded tin of beans for 4p now 29p and as you say theres no drop in prices on anything apart from the petrol , they'll increase there profit margins no end then pay the share holders , theres no evidence of prices coming down breads still aint and as you say wheat prices are low , this is rip off Britain it wouldnt happen anywhere else in Europe

The convoyers of our federation held at meeting behind closed doors with the main pigeon transport contractors and the proposals are there is to be a levy charged to each club of £10 per race AND the clubs shall be responsible to feed their birds into a central collection station.Unfortunately I will not be having any of this nonsense and I applaud anyother fanciers out there who take the same stance.

The writing is on the wall boys, we have to make and stand and not take anymore of this nonsense, if we don't look after ourselves no one else will? >:( >:( >:( >:( >:(

i think our fed charges us £6.50 for 1st 20 birds......35p each bird  there after.

this also applys to over the water races ..so far...this is bound to change .

the fed feeds  and waters the birds in this price.

Well that was a mis - quote, it actually says 'The love of money is the root of all evil', though the gist is there of course.

Our Fed put up the charge per basket/panier for young bird racing on the transporter because of the increase in fuel charges. It is being banded about that they will be asking members to pay £100.00 per season including Fed fees no matter how many birds you send old & young don't know how it will go regarding Combine & National races might be a good idea but would definately suit large fliers if there are any left.

i think the £100 includes 10 training tosses and all fed race races out to around 300 miles. 10 tosses alone would cost at least £50. no matter how many birds you send. if you go on your own how much for 10 tosses not counting time.

I don't know the full facts but will find out at the AGM I think our club arranged 3 tosses for a £10 last season never used it myself but it seemed value for money this was arranged additional to normal Fed tosses. It just seems a shame that everything keeps going up and when there is a reduction in say fuel costs never really gets passed back but I suppose they will say it's in-case it goes back up although in all honesty it has come down from £140/barrel to £64+ - it's like the new potato (chips) syndrome always go up when available  but never come back down (£1.20/£1.40) bag of chips Sorry diversified quite a bit.

I will be happy just to be able to fly pigeons as long as i can afford to

the problem for the people who administer the feds is balancing reality with expectation. many organisations have over the years been able to subsidise longer races with the profits from high birdage from earlier shorter races. unfortunately this is now not possible for many small feds. controlling costs is an extremely difficult excercise.

best way is to get the cost of running the fed then split the cost with the members .ie aberdeen fed members pay £115 a year  ;)

is that everyone pays the same amount to fly the whole season ?

Warwick fed do similar then 20p a bird works well

yes its covers everything .as much birds as you can muster up  ;)

well that means the small back garen fancier is penalised by the mob flyer , and young fanciers wouldnt be able to get a race if that was the case , better to pay per bird much fairer
