just ask me Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 that a hard one to answer as birds in different areas have different circumstances as terrain ans such

BLACK W F Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 depends on type of day also they go a lot faster when percy chasing them lol cheers Alan
Guest Vic Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 If you mean velocity wise on a straight course. These days I would say 47-49 miles per hour.

Guest Vic Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 i no the answer to that its aplane ;D ;D ;D ;D sorry mate ..i think only the bird or god will no that its only rough guessing what a bird does Come on mate! is this a wind up or not Read the original question properly. LOL
ChrisMaidment08 Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 anywere between 35 and 60 miles hour
ChrisMaidment08 Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 when a bird starts to fly that is its fastest point then from that is cruiseing birds donot power all the time but get into relax comfortable mode for bird to be doing nearly 80 there is strong wind up its *expletive removed*
Guest puresoontjen Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 Come on mate! is this a wind up or not Read the original question properly. LOL come on its all guess work there a number of reasons a bird comes back quick i no what ya saying at the top ok i think its doing approx 50/60 and if the bird got good wind up it back side it will do 70/80mph
Guest Vic Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 CANT YOU READ. THE GUY SAID NO WIND! SOME DIK HEADS ON HERE AINT THERE?
carlsberg Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 he 's probably on the sauce as usual
Guest Vic Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 42mile per hour with no windWhen I was secretary in my early days, I didn't need to be too brilliant to realise that the maximum speed of a pigeon was around the 1400 mark with no wind. When one considers that a pigeon doing 45 mile per hour is recording `1320. Things haven't really changed. Too many smart arses in the game to-day.lol. Vic.
Guest Vic Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 he 's probably on the sauce as usual SAYS CARLSBURG! LOL
Guest asha Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 Well if you ask Slugmonkey, he reacons his birds fly at least60mph without any wind assistance, but then again,he also recons they grow brussel sprouts bigger than our savoy cabbages, and he also recons they have to use cartons the size of our backdoor to get their kentuky fried in,but i think the only thing big over there is slugmonkeys head 8)
REDCHEQHEN Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 I have looked at birds on the south road and birds on the north road at roughly the same time of day - and their combined velocities have been between 2900 and 3000 ypm divide the two 1450 -1500 ypm or 49 - 51 mph
Guest Vic Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 I don't mind helping out. In fact, I am thinking of opening my own site. Called:- No P*** when you fish. lol
Guest spin cycle Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 i thought we had this on another thread during the summer...and in NO wind the answer was 1400 ypm
PATTY BHOY Posted November 24, 2008 Report Posted November 24, 2008 http://www.speedpigeon.com/racing_pigeon_calculator.htm have a look at these speeds.
