hotrod Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 no not at all,i think smaller convoys over the years have provided the west section with national winners ie jock cosgrove & ian mcgee come to mind, this year 2 wins in the snrpc in the west at the distance with small convoys.certainly in my area there are now fanciers racing and winning with the snrpc that had previously never competed at national level, which is good. fair comment alec, i thought you were just another one coming on here slagging off snrpc and its birdage ,i think our birds have to work harder because of the smaller convoys ,just my opinion
Guest Posted January 18, 2009 Report Posted January 18, 2009 alex there is also alot of fanciers that were not at the top in the snfc untill we left but a good doo from 500+ mls is good in any club you can only race against those who want to race the same as you cant help where your loft pos. is you only have to make the best of what you have
alec guinness Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 fair comment alec, i thought you were just another one coming on here slagging off snrpc and its birdage ,i think our birds have to work harder because of the smaller convoys ,just my opinion hotrod certainly not on to slag anyone,i have posted before regarding the increase on fanciers today having a go at the nationals more so since the split, dont really know the reason, one idea i have is that club and fed fanciers who do not normally send have been sending to the inland nationals and ybn which i feel has acted as a steping stone to 500 mile races and now with so many feds racing inland with the nationals fanciers can have the best of club, fed combine & national together. :)
hotrod Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 500 mile racing in some feds is no longer the pinacle of the season a lot just stop at or before the inland nationals,We were talking about east france(belguim)/ west france races ,in 2006 i was 5th open lessay (cherbourg) 2ND open was r. nisbet cockburnspath i got 18 miles from him, p patrick was 4th open i gave him overfly but if we were racing from reims or arras east france i get 55 miles off r nisbet and 20 odd miles off pete patrick i would have been 2nd/3rd open as the overfly from k.buchannan would have been bigger as well he was 3rd open and wasn,t that far ahead of me, thats why ive said racing from that side helps the west boys get their true overfly hope this clears it up john

Big Davie Posted January 19, 2009 Report Posted January 19, 2009 Yes they added it as part of the SNFC programme, but the commitees original proposal was for it not to be available as a duplication race.????? but i hope im wrong Fed racing finished on July 3rd suits me fine, i could then concentrate on the Falaise race and the yb,s

Guest Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 glad to see delboy can race way the lanarshire after all did he get in ?
Guest bigda Posted January 20, 2009 Report Posted January 20, 2009 naw, way all the duplacations and that he might share the transport way lanarkshire, but must say he has a measure for the national, to all races he should be able to join the lanarkshire for the distance races and be able to pool his birds there at the distance if its all right in the national the section should stand if not the open
