Blue Tooner, that must be one of the best distance birds in Europe, if not the best. Absolutely outstanding performances.  :)

I would have to agree Dave. Jim has a loft full of quality pigeons and he is always there at the distance. He has taken the standard to new heights he has well and truly raised the bar. A top class fancier with amazing performances. My personal favourite of Jim's was Niort Lady a mealy hen 2nd N.Section 15th Open Sartilly 605 miles, !st N.Section 40th Open Niort 775 miles a truly outstanding hen.

Ooooohhh, thats a pearler of a question Delboy! To be honest, i couldn't say. There's been some great ones. Two of my favourites are Wearside Lass and Margarets Pride, multi performers before winning the big one. I'm sure there was a UNC winner up on Holy Island but will have to go through me books to get the racepoint! Helluva question though Del, that probably was worth a thread of its own! I'll get back to you.  :)

Think your right Dave about the Holy Island winner .Surely that must have been a tail wind? Fantastic performance anyway. Donaldsons win last year was outstanding as well. I have the aunty of that bird in my stock loft ;)

Aye, Bob is an axcellent pigeon man. He's always knocking about the UNC results. Think you are right regarding the the tail wind, at just over 1500ypm it must of been! lol! Still, racing against the UNC way up in Holy Island took some doing!

........AND DKJ, you know your pigeons! Blue Boy is a legend in the north east! His record speaks for itself!  :)

Cracking thread this, well done T_T!

Dicky Darky,

Nice to know about other great pigeons, there was also a hen  called "Grizzelda" there at that time amongst others that I can't remember the name of ( getting old ) but they all made you glow inside with a feeling that's difficult to explain and a pleasure to be involved in this wonderful sport. Looking through this thread the Ron Williamson pigeon "Ron-Ville Millenium Superstar" with regards to performance must be the best ever to have lived I would of thought.  Most certainly the best I know about now.  I don't know how others would perceive the " best performance " .  but all in all, terrific pigeons.

Arie Van Beeks "Der Bomber," one of my favourite all time pigeons. De Klak. The photographer Falco Ebben was the guy who took me to Arie's. One of the best birds i've ever handled, an absolute dream!
