jimmy white Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 i would like to wish the best of luck to all the friends i have made on the forum but will not be keeping uptodate with everyone as i have grown tired of seeing a lot of advise asked for then totall ignored and a lot of trouble caused in my opinion the site is not as good as it was some years ago, will drop in now and then to look but will not be posting any more as one of our longer, most genuine members, who has helped many with his help advice, throughout many years, i for one am saddened by his post, i have to agree with" shadow" in this post,, to much needless trouble caused by certain members, i cannot for the love of me understand why this should be,, selfishness ? sheer sordid delight in "getting one over one"? or complete ignorance? shadow has posted hundreds of helpful, sensible, postings , remaining calm and careful in his" to the point" posts, i for one will most certainly miss his, often very valuable input,, such a shame to lose members of this calibre,, i can only say, please dis-regard these so-called trouble makers, stay with the forum,, and hopefully we shall see you posting again on a forum which will revert to, as it was just a few years ago,, please accept my kindest regards, my best wishes, and hopefully we will see you posting again in the near future,jw

Guest Hjaltland Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 yes enjoy your birds mate thats what its all bout who cares what who ppl say its in how clubs every were you all ways get some ass holes in any sport i get on with it enjoy what you like p.s i like it here There you go!.. good advice. Think about why you keep pigeons in the first place and blank out the petty politics. There are people on here who do appreciate your input and who do give advice. As everywhare on the internet you have to disregard the cr@p which finds its way on. I do disagree with you that this is not the site it used to be... we always had someone or another coming the cr@p.. you just have to turn a blind eye to it. I know I dont post very often but I do enjoy this site enormously, there is hardly a day goes by I dont log on sometime but at the end of the day its a forum... and you do see all aspects of life on it the same as anywhere else in life. None of us is perfect and we will react to sh!t stirring on occasion. Dont let them grind you down. Go and enjoy your pigeons - same as we all do. Roll on pairing up time and eggs in the nest, youngsters and that winning bird! Yay !!!! All the best Kenny
Guest IB Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 Shadow also gave up the birds a while back. When he still had the birds I remember well him posting what must have been one of the funniest 'hawk' stories on here: a harris hawk belonging to a near neighbour escaped, and came down with his birds after exercise. It maybe thought it was a pigeon, because Shadow was able to catch it and return it to its owner, first getting both he and the hawk photographed and posted up on here.
THE FIFER Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 very sorry to hear this m8, hope you reconsider as its members like yourself who keep the site interesting and going, so hope to see you continue,
willow Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 Good Morning Shadow ,i am a novice here but i couldn't agree with you more . I took an interest in this sport or hobby and even went to the bother of posting an article from SOS thats Scotland on Sunday for those who read others and spoke to Ian Mc Call about BOP and the culling of them , i even went on the Scottish Parliment web site and posted what was needed doing , as i was sick of everyone posting about BOP and doing nothing and only shouting about what should be done .Yes i agree this site is useless unless you want to argue with everyone or belittle others ,or if you are selling something .No real issues are being addressed and when someone tries to help they get shot down or ignored .Shadow i also being a novice don't come on myself much now as it is always the same people who post ,lots of people look at the postings but say nothing .For a site with so many members it should be working together to encourage new members and to do something constuctive about BOP . Enjoy your birds Shadow and i wish you well for the future . Avril

Avril yes agree with the number of members and those that come on site, but thats not just on here its all over the pigeon sport, feds with 500 members and 100 odds turn up for meetings, but its those member which count the more members the more you get taking part, look into other sites with say 1000 members , look in, 2 on sometimes none, at leased this being the biggest site for members we have 100 plus on most evenings, so still the best, yes its the same all over in the pigeon sport , but it works that the more members you have the more you get taking part, and on this site look in during the early hours of the mornings and there is always someone there,
sapper756 Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 It,s always sad when someone makes the decision to leave this great site, however what we must remember is that you can not keep everybody happy, we are all very different individuals, and probably expect different things from this site. How many times have we seen people complaining about others hijacking threads with banter, then on the other hand, we have others who complain if they are not allowed to have some banter. We all (myself included) need to be more understanding of others and their wants. It is down to the admin and mods to police the site, and I believe they all do a good job, I myself have had posts removed, however I accept that it was removed for a reason, and if I want too, I can pm a mod and ask why. I too, hope that shadow reconsiders his decision, and continues to be part of our great site. This thread, is in no way meant to offend any body, it,s only my opinion
Guest j.bamling Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 Sorry to here you are leaving the site Shadow its a sad day when good honest members leave the site because of 1-2 of the trouble makers i hope you have a change of heart in the near future !! best wishes jimmy
Guest bigbok Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 a sad day when a long time poster leaves any forum hope you return one day to offer great genuine advice
chickadee Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 I have enjoyed and taken a few lessons from your posts but may have not replied to some of them. I agree with Sapper that everyone gets different pleasures from the site whether it be information, entertainment or keeping in touch with the friends we make, it is the mix that draws us all back and I hope it does the same to you
just ask me Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 hope to see u back if not what ever u choose to do now the birds are gone all the best with it
Guest bakes Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 sorry to hear about this shadow sad news.
Guest Owen Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 It is as Strapper says. We are all individuals and have our own unique way of reacting to the Forum. The good thing is that we are able to discuss all sorts of topics and learn how others see the sport. I like the fact that I am in contact with people from all over the UK. Some will be friends for a long time to come. I hope. There is no doubt that the information published has been useful to some. And I have personally benefited from contacts where I have been able to get supplies. Of course some will put a light hearted spin on things and engage in banter. Surely that is good because I can not think that life was meant to be lived in deadly seriousness all the time. I have got carried away and said things that have caused the Mods to remove. And looking back they were right to remove them and I am glad they did. However, it is true to say that there are politics being played out. And it is equally true to say that the site has been used to cause embarrisment and aggrevation unnecessarlly. But on the balance of things this is a wonderful site and I hope it will continue. I hope you will not walk away because the more informed points of view the better. And please forgive the ignorance and bias shown sometimes. That is human nature. The sport and this forum can ill afford for geniune experienced people like yourself to leave. Good Lord, we could have the monkeys running the Zoo next.
Roland Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 Sad for a member to feel that way, and that's for sure. I often think it may well come a time when Guests aren't allowed to look in. Read, or reply. But have to sign up as a member as most are 0n here. Just a curteous opening stating Behavior, aims and goals and wants of achievements etc. No want stop Master Bates and his cronies.... but may well cut out future members of his family. :-/ Good luck Shadow.
pigeonpete Posted November 29, 2009 Report Posted November 29, 2009 sorry to hear this shadow, hope you reconsider, have time out, nd hope to see you post again soon :-)
